Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Birthday reflections by the ocean. It's my birthday today, and my Mom's too. Happy Birthday, Mom! Last year on my birthday, I biked from our house to Venice Beach early in the morning. It's about a 2.5 mile bike ride each way and it took me 20 minutes. This year it took me about 10 minutes longer because I had a certain little boy joining me for the ride. J and I headed out of the house at 6:00 am and when we got there, the beach was nearly empty. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. A friendly dolphin, up close and personal. Today we decided to go out on the sailboat right after picking the kids up from school. It was overcast and a bit windy, so perfect weather for sailing. We got an amazing surprise while we were out on the Gulf intercoastal with only our jib sail up. A friendly dolphin popped out of the water, right next to our sailboat! She stayed playing under our boat for quite a while, surfacing frequently as if to say, "Hi! Thursday, August 25, 2011.
