Saturday, March 21, 2009. Last Day With the Girls. This is my last post about the Purty Thirty girls week. So sad. Our last day in the City was all about Martha. Yes, I've only lived in New York for four months, and I've already been to the Martha show twice. No, I'm not a Martha junkie, but it is fun! From Desperate Housewives, was the featured guest, and she and Martha made the cutest felt hats for kids. Adorable! We ended the day at the Plaza Hotel. Which is much yummier. Labels: New York City.

Monday, January 11, 2010. I love getting handmade gifts. Especially from crafty friends. One day last week, I headed up to Janna's house with our friend Erin for lunch and a time to hang out and let the kids play. You may remember Janna and Erin visiting me in NYC for Janna's 30th bday last March. Check 'em out. Well the most exciting thing is that we are all pregnant! Janna surprised me with some Christmas presents that she made. Look at these adorable coasters she made and hand stitched for me!

Friday, September 25, 2009. I'm off to Michigan today for the Amy Wenzel. If you remember I went in June, and the first night of the workshop, Amy found out her husband, who had hit his head while messing around with buddies in San Francisco, was rushed to the hospital with seizures, and was then diagnosed with brain cancer. Amy left the workshop and headed straight to CA to be with him. They are now back in Michigan pursuing treatment, and our rescheduled workshop is this weekend. He is doing well.

Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Movers are gone, cars were loaded on a flatbed truck, the house is empty, and we've said goodbye to Rye and our wonderful friends. The past couple days have been somewhat a blur with our lives being turned completely upside down and nothing being "normal". I have to begin by telling you that our Christmas tree is a lemon this year – not a lemon tree, but a lemon of a tree. It’s our own fault. We trudged through the tree farm, selected the beauty and cut it down ourselves. It was only after we hauled it home and installed it in our living room we realized there were several problems. The first issue: this tree is very pokey. The second bummer is that this tree stinks.

One house gave him a box of Nerds so I told him it was a music shaker so he wouldn't stop and shove more candy down his throat.
