A water cooled 4CW800 PA for 144Mc. After building several PA's with one or two 4CX250BM's I decided to change to water cooling. In later stage I installed a water outlet in the shack which was directly connected to the PA. The heated water went to the gutter of the roof. The PA I build is based on an rf-grounded λ/4 design with a round messing pipe (the lecher) connected to the anode of the tube. My 10 GHz station. My 10 GHz station consists of the well known DB6NT 10GHz - 144Mc transvertor, a home made oscillator chain and a RW1125 TWT amplifier. The transvertor, TWT and waveguide switch are mounted in a watertight box which is mounted at the back side of the antenna. The HT power supply and oscillator first multiplier are located in the shack. The oscillator is 24/7 switched on to prevent frequency drift. My station situated at the contest location of PA6NL.

The PI7CIS beacon is located in a remote site at the sea-shore of Scheveningen, approx. 100 m away from the beach. The locator is JO22dc. The frequency of operation is 144.416 Mc. The call is keyed using FSK with 1 Kc downward shift. The transmitter is a modified PYE T4002, providing 45 Watt to the antenna, a Kathrein dipole at 40 m ASL beaming 90/270 degrees. Some of my old 144 Mc equipment. In the old days (1970 and earlier) of 144 Mc activity only home-made equipment and modified ex-commercial equipment was used. Most equipment used a crystal oscillator at a frequency of 4 Mc, 6 Mc or 8 Mc as a starting point.
