Ie Homepage Cilento - Nationalpark beschäftigt sich mit einem Teil dieses Gebietes, dessen offizieller Name Parco nazionale del Cilento e Vallo di Diano. Aber sehr unterschiedliche Gebiete umfaßt, scheint es sinnvoll, nur einen Teil vorzustellen: das alte Cilento. Da die Geschichte Paestums und Velias eng verknüpft sind, schien es sinnvoll, beide antiken Städte vorzustellen und nicht an der Grenze des alten Cilento ( Cis-Alentum ) halt zu machen.
