Monday, March 23, 2009. Thank goodness it's here. I've been dying for it to start being consistently above 50 degrees. And I think we're over the hump.at least for the forseeable future. I've definitely been a fair-weather rider this year. No crazy 4 1/2 hour rides on 5 degree days; no rides in sideways sleet. Thursday, August 14, 2008. Well, my surgery went fine on Monday. I wasn't nervous about it at all. Just anxious to get it over with so I could get on with the healing. I've never had surgery before and I have to say.it was a weird experience. All I remember is the nurse covering me with a heated blanket and then, what seemed like 30 seconds later, the same nurse saying "you're done! I looked at my hand and where there was previously this. The Road to SS Hundies. Monday, June 2, 2008. Well, here it came and here it went. I don't want to talk much about it, but suffice to say, that I stupidly opted not to gear down and rode my normal 32X18, which combined with my lack of fitness at this point in the season, proved to be a bad bad choice. I thought I ran out of gas by the aid station #2 at mile 34, but was convinced by my buddy not to quit. By mile 46 at station #3 I was completely out of it, and thought I was about to die right there.

Dan's parents had a small party on Saturday night so I packed up some of my stuff to stay the night over there instead of driving home later on in the night. We decided to head out to Pontiac Lake (my favorite local riding trail) to go on a hike with the dog.since it was 60 outside!
