Partially Domesticated Creatures: June 2011

http://www.partiallydomestic.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 30, 2011. Try harder, work through it, stay up later, do something, even if it's wrong. I'm beginning to question this approach, though. I think that sometimes, we're so busy that we forget how important it is to rest. The scripture is full of admonitions to rest, be still, be quiet, but I, for one, tend to focus on doing much more than being. Links to this post. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Partially Domesticated Creatures: O Da Wo Da Wit Da Weeus

http://www.partiallydomestic.blogspot.com/2014/01/o-da-wo-da-wit-da-weeus.html

Tuesday, January 28, 2014. O Da Wo Da Wit Da Weeus. My family intentionally misquotes a certain line from a Robert Burns poem. The poem is called "To a Louse", and the line is:. O wad some Power the giftie gie us. To see oursels as ithers see us! My family says it this way:. O da wo da wit da weeus. See ourselves as others see us. Of course, it makes me wonder, how often is that person me? I'm thinking about this today because an acquaintance of mine posted an article on social media last night that she ...

Hammster Life: Happy 3rd Birthday Nate!

http://hammsterlife.blogspot.com/2009/10/happy-3rd-birthday-nate.html

Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Happy 3rd Birthday Nate! My sweet baby boy turned 3 on September 25th. How did this happen? Where did those 3 years go? Then he gets older, and I think I love that age the most. I think I just love Nate the most, no matter his age. Though if he could stay 3 for a bit longer than he was 2. Here are some pictures of his actual birthday on Friday. Starting out the morning right. with powdered doughnuts and a Happy Birthday song and candles. Home to open a gift from Nana and Poppy D.

Hammster Life: January 2009

http://hammsterlife.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 14, 2009. And so I'm not quite sure, but I believe that his "dinner" consisted of wheat crackers, cheerios, and ranch dip. That's healthy, right? Nate's new best friend, Jeromie, "loaned" him his iPhone, which Nate immediately fell in love with. His favorite application was the Star Wars light saber. Nate forced Jeromie to play with him and the iPhone for an hour at least. A whole hour where Mommy cringed each time the $300 iPhone got slung around and pounded on. For the past few weeks...

Tanya's Tales: Unstructured Art

http://toddlerhoodtales.blogspot.com/2009/07/unstructured-art.html

Trying to find the balance between working, being a mom, being a girlfriend and being myself. Monday, July 6, 2009. Structured arts and crafts are always fun and cute but sometimes its nice to just give your mini Picasso some paper, paint and a brush and see what happens. Experiment with different 'brushes'. Use sponges, clothes, cotton balls, q-tips, etc. Let your child explore and see what happens when they mix colors. These painting also make perfect art for grandparent's refrigerators! The Get Up Kids.

Tanya's Tales: Free Art Friday

http://toddlerhoodtales.blogspot.com/2009/12/free-art-friday.html

Trying to find the balance between working, being a mom, being a girlfriend and being myself. Friday, December 4, 2009. I love letting Jacq explore different mediums and just be creative. This time I brought out my pastels. And she LOVED them. We used heavy art paper so the pastels would adhere better. One set of pastels. Aren't they beautiful? First she made a few sketches. Then she used her fingers to explore what it would look like being smudged. Then she used brushes to smudge. Life As A Wilson.

Trying to find the balance between working, being a mom, being a girlfriend and being myself. Friday, August 27, 2010. Jacq LOVES to use her scissors. Here is proof. She got these great books made by Kumon. They are great for practicing cutting and pasting. A very easy, yet effective teaching tool. Wednesday, August 25, 2010. I love italian food. Pasta, basil, cheeses. What's not to love? I made this over the weekend for a BBQ and it was very tasty! Pasta, one package (fusilli, penne or rotini). Cut out ...

These were for Nana Judy, Nana Shari and Grandma Yvonne on Mother's Day. Here is another one we did for a birthday party. Grandparent's especially like this. Have fun with it! What an awesome idea! http://toddlerhoodtales.blogspot.com/2009/06/reach-for-sky.html

Trying to find the balance between working, being a mom, being a girlfriend and being myself. Monday, June 29, 2009. Reach for the Sky! This has to be the most messy, goopy, and fun craft so far. So much thanks to Allie at No time for flash cards. Her blog is by far my favorite arts and crafts blog. I love all her ideas and her son is the same age as Jacq so they are always age appropriate activities. Shoot for the Moon. 1/2 cup of glue. 1 1/2 cups shaving cream. Craft paper ( I used a brown paper bag).

Tanya's Tales: 4/5/09 - 4/12/09

http://toddlerhoodtales.blogspot.com/2009_04_05_archive.html

Trying to find the balance between working, being a mom, being a girlfriend and being myself. Sunday, April 5, 2009. Yesterday Jacq and I made these super easy bird feeders. I got the idea for this from my Cheerios Cookbook that I got for Christmas. Sugar ice cream cone. Knife or spoon to spread the pb. Poke a small hole in the bottom of the sugar cone. Tie a knot at one end of your pipecleaner and thread it through the bottom of the ice cream cone with the cone upside down. Like this. I have never seen ...

Daily Mass Readings Podcast. Monastery of the Holy Spirit. The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Saturday June 21, 2008 - Jehoiada's Revenge and the hunt for Mammon. I'm either starting to catch up a little bit, or these are getting easier. Jesus said to his disciples:“No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? Partially Deflated

Tuesday, 6 March 2012. Newcastle United 1 Sunderland 1. Then we got a penalty and I knew we would miss that too. Our team at this point were as desperate as we were to score. There was a fantastic spell, which for obvious reasons I only appreciated the next day, after the save when we won every ball and kept steadily going. We did not do this in 2000, despite the penalty minutes coming in the exact same minute. Monday, 28 November 2011. Premiership Review (26th-27th Nov). Don Goodman was the pundit. ...
