The Commentary: October 2012
http://aboutamillionthings.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
About a million things. Saturday, October 20, 2012. News, a bunch of friends, and more. Needless to say, I rarely find myself bored these days since there are always new tweets and instagrams to check up on. No wonder this has caught like wildfire and sucked me in with it! While I'm completely in love with twitter, it has caused me to once again reflect on American culture. Aside from the friend who urged me to join, most others have had that "why would you do that? Friday, October 12, 2012. It wouldn't ...

About a million things. Thursday, December 20, 2012. My hometown was paralyzed Friday, December 14th. I'm still feeling a bit paralyzed myself, grieving as I would someone I knew personally. This was an anonymous poem I received in an email and I feel I need to share it too. Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38. When 20 darling children stormed through heaven's gate,. Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air,. They could hardly believe the beauty, of all that they saw there,.

About a million things. Saturday, May 18, 2013. Yoga: Why you should think about doing it. Kenpo X is a disc from the famed P90X series. up until recently it was the only disc I would indulge in - 45 minutes of cardio in the form of mixed martial arts, primarily boxing/kick-boxing like exercises}. As if it was a sign from the heavens, my mom called me one day and said "I signed up for yoga! Mind So if you are looking for an alternative work-out to add to your routine, seriously consider adding yoga!

About a million things. Saturday, June 15, 2013. This is a personal shout out post in honor of my PA school besties (holla at a dolla honey boo boos! I'm tired of work, I need a beach," I said. I know, we need to go on a vacation," Misterious replied. Well lets do it, when can we go? We don't have our schedules, we can request off now.". With that, Talulah meandered in "What's that? We are going on a mini-vacay, wanna come? Where are we going? Anywhere, lets just go, why not? Nope, not yet", "what? After...

About a million things. Monday, September 30, 2013. F is for Fall Fantasy Football. Fall used to be a simpler time for me - it would bring a simple sadness that winter was coming and my summer clothes would be doomed to darkness in the dresser for the next 9 months. The only bright light during this dim time would be Thanksgiving and the joys of the holiday season. But never fear, fantasy football is here. Will it be Drew Brees? And what about my team name? Then draft day arrives. With many windows o...

About a million things. Sunday, September 30, 2012. 5 Blue Moon (by Coors - US of A). Disclaimer: This beer is making it to the list only because it is my go-to bar beer. I am well aware this is not an super high quality beer; its the generic "girl beer." With that noted, it was too difficult for me to confidently decide between the runner's up for this spot so Blue Moon is the pick because of the frequency with which I drink this beer. It is a wheat beer. 4 Delirium Tremens (Belgium). 1 Franziskaner Wei...

About a million things. Monday, October 21, 2013. PS I used to make this recipe by pre-chopping all the veggies in a food processor, but I recently obtained an immersion blender which significantly lessens the work and improves the texture of the soup - if you don't have one of these and you like to make soup, please please please consider buying one. It is my new favorite kitchen toy and I'm constantly looking for excuses to use it! Ingredients (makes 4-6 servings):. 1/2 medium sized Yellow Onion. 1 In ...
