From Carrig to Carraun. Tour de West Cork. I was asked to photograph the wedding of Nichola and Donnacadh at Ballintotis this week,. The weather behaved and the Sun shone right on cue. High fashion was the order of the day. And even the lads looked well! From Ballintotis we travelled the short distance to the Midleton Heritage Center. After a few shots(photos and whiskey), the Wedding Party arrived at The Midleton Park Hotel,. Here the guests enjoyed the lavish reception . Thursday, May 27, 2010.

From Carrig to Carraun. High Key or Low Key? High Key or Low Key? It's been ages since I posted something here.Nothing really worthwhile happening. This week I had a go at some minimilist shots(is that an actual word? Anyway, I decided to head to Pilmore and then over to Knockadoon. I don't really know if there is a "technique" for this kinda stuff, so it was a little bit of trial and error. So have a look ,and by all means let me know if you think they are rubbish,or maybe I'm on the right track.

From Carrig to Carraun. Carrigtwohill started there Senior Hurling Championship campaign with a fine win over East Cork rivals Killeagh. After a slow start, Carrig grew into the game and gradually got to terms with their opponants. After going in at the break 3 points down, they made a blistering start to the second half and a opportunist goal from my Man of the Match,Micky (Da) Fitzgerald paved the way for Carrigs win. Micky (Da) Fitzgerald in action. He tormented the Killeagh defence from the throw in.

From Carrig to Carraun. The recent cold spell isn't to everybody's taste.But if you have an interest in photography, frosty/snowy conditions are a Godsend. With this in mind I decided to brave the elements and make the trek to Kerry and try to get some snaps. The south of Ireland has escaped the brunt of the weather,but it was still a tricky drive over the county bounds from Cork to Kerry. Just below Ladies View. From there I drove over Molls Gap and stopped off at a little lake called Barrafinihy Lake.

From Carrig to Carraun. One Stop or Ten? One Stop or Ten? Have you ever bought a piece of equipment that at the time felt like a good idea? Only for the said piece of kit to be found gathering dust a few weeks/months later. Well I know I have. One such piece of kit I have is a 10 stop filter or more correctly a B W ND 110 . The purpose of the filter is to reduce the amount of light reaching the camera sensor by 10 Stops. With this in mind ,last Saturday I headed to Guileen to get a few long exposure shots.
