Tuesday, March 30, 2010. 6 Days post op - 2nd rehab. Another thing I need to work on is quad control and muscle memory. It seems the shock of the surgery has caused my quad to stop working correctly.And because I haven't used it in a few days, the quad memory of the action it takes to take a step is starting to go away, so I need to get that back. Friday, June 11, 2010. In about a week or so it will be 3 month post op which means I'm halfway to the expected full recovery! Nothing really new to report, been going to therapy about once every two weeks now (trying to conserve those insurance visits). I walk normal to the untrained eye, but the therapists can tell my hip is weak when I take a step. I am working on hip and hamstring strength mainly. I can smell the finish line! Thursday, April 8, 2010. So its officially 2 weeks out since I had my operation and unless I am moving around, I don't even notice my bad knee at this point. I can freely bend and extend it with my quad and hamstring when I sit on the bed (obviously not all the way though). Feeling pretty good now even though the recovery rate has kind of plateaued. Monday, October 19, 2009. Ditching the knee sleeve and playing too much. I've also ditched the knee sleeve as it wouldn't protect me from tearing anything and it makes me aware of my weaker leg. Right now, treating my surgical leg different than my good leg is a bad idea as according to this study. Wednesday, March 3, 2010. 11 Months Post Op! The recent (2 months ago) pain / swelling in knee is now gone. Although my left leg is still. Smaller than my good right leg, it is noticeably bigger than before. All the strengthening I've been doing for the past 2 months has paid off! Over the past month since being given the go-ahead for sports, I've been playing 2 days of Ultimate a week 2 days of personal training (30 mins of pure torture for my legs). Overall, the knee has constantly been improving, I have more confidence in my leg, and with the intense PT sessions my muscle strength is coming close to matching my good leg. Tuesday, December 22, 2009. And just when I thought everything was peachy clean. Last night my surgical knee had extra fluid in it. I'm not even sure when it got there as I didn't notice until I was about to hit some zzz's. Tuesday: Personal training - Worked entirely on jumping / plyometrics. Thursday, February 4, 2010. 10 months Post Op! Over the past month I've been slightly out of commission for ultimate as I re-work my inner quad and IT band. On Tuesday I was able to play a game without any pain and no extra swelling. I've been doing 3 exercises every morning (wall squat hold for 30 seconds x 5, reverse lunge hold x 10, IT stretch with foam roller). I can feel quite a big difference in my inner quad now than before. Although it is still smaller than my good leg. Goal for the next month:.
