Day 4: Vineyard tour | Photos for Blogs
https://photosforblogs.wordpress.com/2014/01/14/day-4-vineyard-tour
Making a visual impression. Day 4: Vineyard tour. We start our day passing the most vibrantly coloured houses I have ever seen. This is the Cape Malay area of Cape Town. Its occupants are the descendants of slaves from Malaysia, Indonesia as well as other areas of Asia and Eastern Africa. Our guide tells us that his ancestors came from Malaysia. Our first stop is the Simonsig Estate. Our next stop is the luxurious Delaire Graff Estate. The food in the restaurant is equally stunning. Museum we had passed ...

Making a visual impression. Cape Peninsula Tour cont. After seeing the penguins at Boulder’s Beach, we get back on the coach to The Cape of Good Hope. Again, it is still early so we beat the crowds. But, Rob our tour guide, would have been willing to. The crowds for our photo opportunity. (Any people in the picture are from our own tour group! At the most south-western point of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans collide. Some wild weather comes in rather quickly. It went from sunny to stormy.

Making a visual impression. Our tour with Cape Convey Tours. Rob, our tour guide, lived during his school years in Essex and he had a strong British/Essex accent. He was an absolute hoot! Knowledgeable, too and very concerned that we have the absolutely best day. We leave the hotel at 7:30am. Early, but the purpose is to miss the crowds, which we did. Our coach ride begins by giving us a view of Table Mountain. That view, with the clouds surrounding it is becoming familiar. The penguins are so cute!
Day 3: Sightseeing Cape Town | Photos for Blogs
https://photosforblogs.wordpress.com/2014/01/13/day-3-sightseeing-cape-town
Making a visual impression. Day 3: Sightseeing Cape Town. From the Mount Nelson Hotel we are able to take the Cape Town Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus. We take the Red City Tour. The day begins with rain. But, the tour is great. Our tickets comes with headphones so we can listen to the commentary giving information about Cape Town. The tour takes us past the South African Parliament building. We travel through District 6. Then we drive through the beautiful and wealthy area of Camps Bay. The final photo ...

Colin Britton: Cliff Notes
http://www.colinbritton.com/2010/08/cliff-notes.html
Monday, August 16, 2010. We wake to hear rain on the tin roof of our cabin. It has stopped by the time we get up. Phoebe, George and Max's shoes are very muddy as they go for one last visit to see the sheep, goats and llama. We pack the car and leave Bayfield for Durango. After our tour, we decide to explore other dwellings on the Mesa top before heading back to the car. A tram car takes us and a few other people back to the car park. On the way we see wild horses, but no mountain lions that also...By no...
Colin Britton: Northern Exposure
http://www.colinbritton.com/2010/09/northern-exposure.html
Wednesday, August 18, 2010. After yesterday's mountain biking we are tired. We don't wake up until 8am. Today we drive north on part of the San Juan Skyway - a scenic 236 mile circular drive from Durango. We have decided not to drive the whole route but to go only as far as Ouray, 75 miles from Durango. The first part of our drive takes us to Silverton. This is the destination of the Durango-Silverton Steam Railway - a 3 hours one way ride at a cost of $400 for our family.

Thursday, April 17, 2008. There was a question on Engadget. About which is the best EU and US GPS device, I commented, but it was as long as a post. So here it is. But when you are doing 100 MPH down the Autobahn. I want that TomTom with me. It is so natural to understand, clear UI, good maps (in Europe) and good routing. But what do we know. We didn't even get a picture of the bear. Sunday, April 6, 2008. Introduction to Semantic Technology. Fast forward to 2008 - where are we with this vision. Some...

Thursday, August 19, 2010. At Cortez we realize that Phoebe's stuffed animal - Labit - has been left behind in the room of the Hampton Suites in Durango. But, he has been found and the hotel will send him on to Lexington. From here, we start the long drive to Four Corners. This landmark is where Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah meet at one point. Tonight we are booked into The View Hotel. We have booked this hotel months earlier before the rest of our trip was planned. Even then, most of th...We co...

Colin Britton: Spa Treatment
http://www.colinbritton.com/2010/08/spa-treatment.html
Saturday, August 14, 2010. Saturday, 14 August. Today we leave Santa Fe and New Mexico and travel to Bayfield in Colorado. Our route is more or less directly north. As we leave Santa Fe we stock up on supplies, mainly food, for the next two days. Where we will be staying in Bayfield is a long way from any shops or restaurants. Even their heads are covered in long shaggy wool so it is difficult to see their eyes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Ian Britton - FreeFoto.com Photoblog: April 2004
http://freefoto.blogspot.com/2004_04_01_archive.html
Out and about with Ian Britton, Principal Photographer for FreeFoto.com. Thursday, April 22, 2004. Its all about the light. Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle is South Facing and the view on the right was taken at 4:22pm in the afternoon. Plenty of Spring sunshine and blue sky makes this picture. Contrast that with one taken a few days before with no sun and plenty of grey cloud. As you can see its all about the light. Posted by britt : 4/22/2004 05:37:00 pm.
