Lenzscapes: July 2007
http://lenzscapes.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
A blend of Photography and Technology. Sunday, 29 July 2007. A question of numbers. One of great things about digital photography is that you can take lots. Of photographs. But one of the great drawbacks of digital photography is that you end up with lots. Of image files. All cameras (or at least, all I've seen) have an autoincrementing counter that gives your image file a number. For my Nikon, it's DSC 1234 or something like that. The obvious problem here is that when you have lots. You can do some very...

Lenzscapes: August 2008
http://lenzscapes.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
A blend of Photography and Technology. Sunday, 24 August 2008. We've had some of the worst storms in the last decade recently. My partner and I drove down to Coromandel to check on the Bach, just after the roads had re-opened. At Whangapoua, the beach level had dropped by over a metre - check the nice clean, unweathered wood on the steps:. A tiny slip on the Whangapoua road - but I liked it. The warning sign said "Shoulder Closed! Maybe because they don't have a sign for "Shoulder sliding down hillside!

Lenzscapes: December 2007
http://lenzscapes.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
A blend of Photography and Technology. Monday, 31 December 2007. Auckland : North and South. A couple of panoramas of Auckland - both taken from the top of One Tree Hill, but a few months apart. Both have been stitched togeteher using AutoStitch. And the originals are huge - but they should scale into a screen height of 800 in a browser window so you can pan. North Auckland - from the Upper Harbour to the Tamaki Estuary. And looking South . South Auckland - from the Bombay Hills to the Waitakeres.

A blend of Photography and Technology. Monday, 22 October 2007. South Island Tikitour - Day 17 - Blenheim to Wanganui. It's always hard to leave the South Island - it always feels like the real. New Zealand; even though the North Island is definately the real. Saying goodbye to the mainland. We decided to cover some ground before calling it a day, and stopped in Wanganui for the night. Lenzscapes: November 2008
http://lenzscapes.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
A blend of Photography and Technology. Monday, 24 November 2008. Another boring day at the office. I try and carry my D70, lenses, cleaning kit, spare memory cards, batteries, storage device and various other bits of essential kit everywhere I go. It makes for a hefty backpack - but what's the point of having a camera if you don't carry it around so you can take photographs? Another boring day at the office. A six shot panorama of Rangitoto, taken from the office balcony and stitched with AutoPanoPro.

Lenzscapes: March 2009
http://lenzscapes.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
A blend of Photography and Technology. Monday, 2 March 2009. I'm not a great follower of current local events, so It's my own fault that I was surprised when someone told me the Queen Mary 2 was coming into Auckland that morning - which meant that it would sail straight past us, up the Rangitoto channel. Unfortunately, early morning haze and the position of the rising sun meant that it was quite challenging to get a decent shot, but the D300 coped very well with the bad light and a long lens.

Lenzscapes: January 2009
http://lenzscapes.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
A blend of Photography and Technology. Wednesday, 28 January 2009. Here comes the sun. We're well past the longest day now, so I'm starting to catch sunrises again. You can get some awesome lighting effects after the sun has actually come up - although there are certains drawbacks in trying to take a shot when you have several gazillion tons of exploding hydrogen that's just come into view. The island is Brown's Island or Motukorea in the Hauraki Gulf. Posted by Dougie McGibbon. Links to this post. Subsc...

Lenzscapes: April 2008
http://lenzscapes.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
A blend of Photography and Technology. Tuesday, 8 April 2008. We finally decided to go somewhere over Easter although even when we got to the motorway it was still a toss-up between North and South. In the end we went North and ended up past the Whangarei Heads. The weather was kind and I was still waking up at "Work Time" so I managed a few sunrise shots. Surfing the Sunrise at Pakiri Beach. Sunrise at Pakiri Beach. Maybe, If I bought a D300 with it's auto-clean mechanism it wouldn't get them anymore.
