Weekly Photo Challenge: Home. Home: there’s no place like it. I’ve travelled my own version of the yellow brick road; dealt with occasional wicked witches, dated a pretty great scarecrow and loved dear ones with warm hearts and great courage. Family. Community. Connections | Piaffe Photography
https://piaffephotos.wordpress.com/2014/03/06/152
There are photographers who can create a technically perfect photograph but the image lacks heart, soul and vision. There are photographers who create images brimming with heart and soul, but they haven’t found the best composition or considered the exposure or light, and their vision gets lost in technical translation. Making the connection, bringing both the craft of photography and creative vision together, could result in a world-class image that touches the soul. Add a dash of discipline as needed.

Unique | Piaffe Photography

Weekly Photo Challenge: Share a picture that says ‘UNIQUE’. U nique / yo oˈnēk / Being the only one of it’s kind; unlike anything else. Unmatched; unequaled; unparalleled. Years ago I worked as caregiver for a wonderful lady with severe cerebral palsy. She was confined to a twisted body, and couldn’t walk or even feed herself, yet she had a spirit freer than anyone else I’ve ever met. But the most wonderful thing was a donated wheelchair-equipped van! 8221; I quipped “it’s time you found out! With tired,...

Creativity is the ability to come up with new ideas through a mental process of connecting existing concepts. The ideas don’t have to be revolutionary – which is a common misconception many people have about creative thinking, they just have to be new for the thinker. Relax and let the juices flow…. The more experiences you have in life, the better you’re able to visualize new concepts. And remember, creativity is the ability to connect those concepts. 2 Like Follows Like. 3 Fight for the Right. Punch it UP | Piaffe Photography

Color is like creative popcorn. 8230;when it’s right it POPS! Not that you can’t do a lot with monochrome and black and white photography, and I truly do appreciate the soft ambiance of a beautiful ‘foggy day’ photo. But color can sometimes be the most critical design element of a great photo. Several famous photographers have based their careers on photographing color and it’s their main subject matter, not a supporting element. Red catches the eye. This color should be used thoughtfully, as it can ...

About | Piaffe Photography
https://piaffephotos.wordpress.com/about
Piaffe Photography began in 2002, in Port Angeles, Washington, with the purchase of a new digital camera, a first generation 1-megapixel Olympus; quite the latest technology in cameras at the time. The first photo I took was aimed out my door. Somehow, with beginner’s luck, I captured the soft, evening light shimmering on woodland ferns after a rain. I was hooked! I’m inspired by author Eudora Welty’s saying a good snapshot stops a moment from running away. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are commenting ...
