Reflections: November 2011
http://poohsreflections.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Reflections on my life - from 1953 till the present. Friday, November 11, 2011. Chocolate straws for milk. We were doing our shopping this morning, and I bought some condensed milk so I could make some mayonaise. On the shelf opposite the condensed milk I spied something else from my childhood that appears to have been resurrected - flavoured straws for milk! Now, school milk. Rock salt or salt flakes etc. Wednesday, November 9, 2011. In short, the answer is YES! Is one of many I discovered on the net wh...

Reflections on my life - from 1953 till the present. Sunday, July 31, 2011. Little Boy kneels at the foot of the bed,. Droops on the little hands little gold head. Christopher Robin is saying his prayers. God bless Mummy. I know that's right. Wasn't it fun in the bath to-night? The cold's so cold, and the hot's so hot. God bless Daddy - I quite forgot. If I open my fingers a little bit more,. I can see Nanny's dressing-gown on the door. It's a beautiful blue, but it hasn't a hood. By A A. Milne. Would yo...

Reflections: Coles Cafeteria in Melbourne
http://poohsreflections.blogspot.com/2012/04/coles-cafeteria-in-melbourne.html
Reflections on my life - from 1953 till the present. Saturday, April 28, 2012. Coles Cafeteria in Melbourne. Coles Cafeteria c1953 (from SLV Victoria). I do remember the 'S' shaped chairs with red seats and backs - not sure if they were leather or vinyl. When I was a young mum myself I remember taking my daughter to Coles Cafeteria too. I loved 'the city' when I was a child and a young mum. Now it is so different, and hardly worth visiting. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Reflections: August 2011

Reflections on my life - from 1953 till the present. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Elephants at the Royal Melbourne Zoo. It may be that I had a ride on Betty or Peggy. These were two baby elephants who arrived at the zoo in 1939. Betty died in 1973 and Peggy in 1988. Lick on this image to view a video of the baby elephants). I can't find a photo of either of these elephants giving rides, but here is one of Queenie. I remember that when I had a ride we sat in a seat just like in this photo. We always had a p...

Reflections: September 2011
http://poohsreflections.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Reflections on my life - from 1953 till the present. Saturday, September 24, 2011. Last night I was watching Bargain Hunt and I saw a memory from my childhood. It was a Hornby (or maybe not) Tin Clockwork Train set. I have searched the internet for a photo, but can't find one exactly the same. Mine (although if the truth be told it probably belonged to my brother John) had a black steam engine, a coal tender (also black? Wonder what happened to it? Thursday, September 15, 2011. My Baby is 35! I can still...

Reflections: Robin Hood and The Saint - two childhood favourites
http://poohsreflections.blogspot.com/2012/06/robin-hood-and-saint-two-childhood.html
Reflections on my life - from 1953 till the present. Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Robin Hood and The Saint - two childhood favourites. This afternoon I was doing my usual two things at once (watching TV and typing on the computer) when I heard a familiar voice. Without even looking up I knew that the voice belonged to Richard Greene - the one and only Robin Hood! As a child I adored Robin Hood, because I thought Richard Greene was it and a bit. He has a beautiful, distinctive voice. To hear the lyrics. Amazin...

Just Jan's Jottings: May 2012
http://justjansjottings.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 25, 2012. When will this stop! Just before we went away we learned that our dear friend Jeanie Muller hadn't long to live. The bowel cancer that has attacked her three times since just before I was diagnosed with my secondary has finally won. Jeanie was hospitalised a few times due to fluid build up in her lungs. Her breathing became difficult and she wasn't eating much. The woderful Jeanie we remember, with Gordon on their 50th wedding anniversary. When we were in Bairnsdale I got a call fro...

Just Jan's Jottings: November 2011
http://justjansjottings.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 24, 2011. I am enjoying keeping my blogs up to date, but I'm a bit disappointed that although my trackers tell me that people from all over are reading some of them, I've only had one comment from a reader, and no-one has actually 'joined' any of my blogs so I'm obviously not that interesting.
