http://singlehandedadmiral.blogspot.com/2015/04/blucher-100-days-campaign.html
The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Saturday, April 18, 2015. Blucher 100 Days Campaign. Curt has been running the Waterloo campaign pack using Sam Mustafa's Blucher rules and it's a lot of fun. As I see it, the Brits have a three fold problem. Husband our meagre resources until our various stragglers arrive. Figure out what the French are doing. Figure out what the #%¥£€#% Prussians think they are doing. April 18, 2015 at 2:26 PM. Pleeeeeeeze. . . April 18, 2015 at 4:18 PM. 1 You're interes...

The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Monday, April 20, 2015. 100 Days Campaign Action at Placenoit. The action takes place late in the day on June 16th, 1815. In history, June 16th saw Ney attack Wellington at Quatre Bras (off table to the south) and Napoleon beat Blucher at Ligney (well to the south east). Initial Deployment from the French (south) side. Back of cards show facing and nationality, faces show unit and attributes. I came back from a bathroom break to find that my Prussian allie...

The Single Handed Admiral: Interesting Naval Post
http://singlehandedadmiral.blogspot.com/2013/04/interesting-naval-post.html
The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Is one of the blogs I follow. Today's post covers the USS Idaho and Mississippi - but not perhaps the ones you're thinking of! This pair was sold to the Greek Navy just prior to WWI. By my reckoning, the pair could be factored into the following conflicts. Pre-dreadnought era what ifs (they originally appeared in White and Buff). Balkan Wars what of (assuming the sale took place in 1912 not 1914). Post War Greek-Turkey Wars. I've s...

http://singlehandedadmiral.blogspot.com/2015/07/100-days-campiaign-decision-points-lead.html
The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Friday, July 10, 2015. 100 Days Campiaign Decision Points - The Lead Up to Placenoit. With our 100 Days Campaign close to winding up, I thought I would look back on some key decision points based on the information available to me at the time. To start with, I will revisit the lead into and follow up from the Battle of Placenoit. Note that a column can move 6 squares/day by road, 3 if moving cross-country. For our army, the early objectives were. Try and f...

The Single Handed Admiral: Battle of Halle - When Real Life is a Metaphor for the AAR
http://singlehandedadmiral.blogspot.com/2015/07/battle-of-halle-when-real-life-is.html
The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Battle of Halle - When Real Life is a Metaphor for the AAR. So we fought out the second battle of Halle yesterday and evening (1:30-10:30 pm), and it was a WWF wrestle mania of an affair featuring the entire French army, all of the surviving brigades of the Anglo-Allied army and almost all if the Prussian army. There were about 300,000 troops represented on a huge battlefield. The Prussians arrived in force, sooner than expected and ...

The Single Handed Admiral: On Painting Kilts
http://singlehandedadmiral.blogspot.com/2012/08/on-painting-kilts.html
The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Monday, August 13, 2012. A comment rail on a recent post over at analogue hobbies. Somewhere in in a rubber maid in my basement I have 25mm colonial highlanders from 3 regiments, 2 in kilts and one in trews. If I get a chance to dig them out and take a photo I'll post them later. Until such time I'll make do with the following historical photos. Yes it's me, yes it's the 70s. 'Nuff said! I can't recall what tartan it was, but you can't tell from the photo.

The Single Handed Admiral: Outdoors Adventures
http://singlehandedadmiral.blogspot.com/2012/10/outdoors-adventures.html
The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Monday, October 8, 2012. So an actuary, an archivist and a French literature prof walk into an open field. Sylvain wanted to use his 1:1200 WW2 battleships in a Fletcher Pratt style game, so he decided that we would do it grand scale and play in a park. With winter approaching, this was best done sooner than later so Sylvain, Curt and I went out to play with toy ships in the park today (much to my family's amusement). Colorado (to the right) leading Arizona.

The Single Handed Admiral: 100 Days Campaign - Battle of Halle pt 2 (or Not Dead Yet)
http://singlehandedadmiral.blogspot.com/2015/07/100-days-campaign-battle-of-halle-pt-2.html
The Single Handed Admiral. Games Played in 2014. Saturday, July 18, 2015. 100 Days Campaign - Battle of Halle pt 2 (or Not Dead Yet). So today our 100 days campaign likely winds up with an all in all out slug fest in the second day of the Battle of Halle (our campaign map spells it Hal, but everywhere else has is as Halle and Halle looks classier). We invade Curt's house for an afternoon cum pizza cum evening battle. The map at day break looks as follows. To fit the entire thing on one 4x8 foot table.
