TSD Photography: June 2009
http://tsdphoto.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. This photo is an image of a boat. Hmmm, not much boat showing. I was walking along the pier looking for some good shots. I put my 70-200mm lens on to force myself to look only at details. I focused on a seagull at the top of this mast, and a second gull chased the first one off. This is the second gull landing on the mast. Here is another boat photo, no.really. Or "how did you get that angle? I thought this mail slot was even more int...

TSD Photography: Let There be Light!
http://tsdphoto.blogspot.com/2009/07/let-there-be-light.html
A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Friday, July 10, 2009. Let There be Light! Built in 1892, the Highland Links Golf Course surrounds the light affording players great views of the light. If you are up for a six mile hike, there are two lighthouses to be had. Wood End light and Long Point light. These two are on the very tip of Cape Cod. The trek starts by walking across a mile-long jetty made of huge slabs of granite. At the end of the jetty, Wood End light can be found. Here are a couple of...

TSD Photography: Post-Processing Part I
http://tsdphoto.blogspot.com/2009/07/post-processing-part-i.html
A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Friday, July 3, 2009. Post-Processing. There are entire books written on this subject. How do you narrow down this plethora of information to manageable chunks? Well, I'll start by asking; do you like it RAW? I sure do. Get your mind out of the gutter.I'm talking about your file format! You're not manipulating your images? This is worse than I thought. This photo is the basis for the workflow demonstration. As you can see, the shot is slightly crooked, w...

A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Off the Beaten Path. Look left, look right, look up, look down. There you go, another secret revealed! There are so many great shots, especially when walking in an urban area, if you keep your eyes away from front. A little disclaimer here.you do need to watch where you walk. You don't want to bend those glasses, break a nose or crack that fast L series lens you just spent $1250 for. Take this one for example;. These are three shots I...

http://tsdphoto.blogspot.com/2009/07/post-processing-part-ii.html
A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Friday, July 3, 2009. OK, back to the demo photo. Here is where we left it:. Now that the exposure is close to what I would want, It's time to crop. Remember the Crop Post? Doesn't it feel more inviting? The final thing I want to change here is to try one more trick (remember I mentioned this in Part I? Just as a reminder, here is the original photo we started with:. Posted by Tim Dennison. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Real Estate Photo Page.

TSD Photography: Metering
http://tsdphoto.blogspot.com/2009/07/metering.html
A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Well, it's kind of a long story. Your camera is not all that clairvoyant when it comes to exposing a scene to your liking. The bad news? The camera tries to expose the scene, any scene, to a neutral gray. This is known as metering. The good news? You have some control over what the camera is "looking at" when it tries to meter the scene. 2 Center Weighted Average Metering:. With partial metering, the exposure is based on the central ...

TSD Photography: Planning Ahead
http://tsdphoto.blogspot.com/2009/07/planning-ahead.html
A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Tuesday, July 7, 2009. There are Some photo opportunities that "arise" infrequently. One of those is a full moon rising. Here, you have a 27 day cycle of opportunity. Of course the weather has to cooperate as well. I have had this shot in my mind for quite some time. I visit this area once per year, and last year, the trip did not coincide with a full moon. Posted by Tim Dennison. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Real Estate Photo Page.

TSD Photography: The Golden Hours
http://tsdphoto.blogspot.com/2009/07/golden-hours.html
A Photo Blog: The Photography of Tim Dennison. Wednesday, July 8, 2009. You may have heard of the "Golden Years". How about the "Golden Hours"? These two photos were taken at 5:45 AM, 30 minutes after sunrise. As you can see, the richness of color adds to the pleasing tones. Also, the sun low in the sky, creates a great amount of detail in the sand via long shadows. These two photos were taken at 7:45 PM, about 45 minutes before sunset. Posted by Tim Dennison.
