Quilt Journey

Friday, July 07, 2006. Quilt #5: Vincent's Utopia. I wanted to combine several techniques into one project, and wanted to do something with sky and water. Thus,. My husband LOVES to fish. In fact, most of the men in my life loving fishing. I personally cannot stand fishing, but it gets the hubby out of the house for a while. I do, however, love the sunset, clear water and brightly colored fish. I also like hanging out in a boat, but I don't like fishing. Strange, isn't it? Anyway, I digress. Basically, I...

Quilt Journey: Project: Appliqued Birthday Shirts

http://www.quiltjourney.blogspot.com/2006/06/project-appliqued-birthday-shirts.html

Sunday, June 11, 2006. Project: Appliqued Birthday Shirts. A friend of mine has twin girls, and they turned 3 this past weekend. To commerate the event, the parents decided to have a petting zoo birthday party, and I was asked to make some shirts to go along with the theme. I tell you, it was not easy coming up with something to fit "barnyard birthday." My mind was blank! Repeat entire process . . . since there were two shirts! Posted by Caré @ 7:02 AM. Quilt Journey: Quilt #1: Jacob?

http://www.quiltjourney.blogspot.com/2006/06/quilt-1-jacob.html

Sunday, June 04, 2006. Okay, so my first mini-quilt took two weeks, but it ended up being more of an emotional journey for me that I bargained for. Is a reflection of my feelings that day. The houses have an accusing look on their face. "How can you lose track of your son? The sky is uncertain. "Will I find my son? Will he be okay? Does someone have my son? Those were just a few of the questions that tormented me. Finally, I cut the piece with my picking shears, not paying too much attention to keeping s...

Quilt Journey: Project: Ballet Baby Blanket

http://www.quiltjourney.blogspot.com/2006/06/project-ballet-baby-blanket.html

Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Project: Ballet Baby Blanket. I currently work with a husband and wife at my small company, and they are expecting a baby girl in just a few short weeks. In keeping with my tradition, I decided to make a baby blanket for the new arrival. In one of the quilting forums I belong to someone posted about the pillow quilts. You remember those, don't you? There are two ways to do a pillow quilt. I chose the easiest! Posted by Caré @ 6:39 AM. View my complete profile.

Quilt Journey: Quilt #3: Why Do I Sew

http://www.quiltjourney.blogspot.com/2006/06/quilt-3-why-do-i-sew.html

Monday, June 19, 2006. Quilt #3: Why Do I Sew. Indulge me in a bit of a cheat, if you will. I had two quilt projects going on this past week, but didn't quite get finished since I had to travel on business. So, I decided to post one of my favorite projects. I subscribe to Quilting Arts magazine (love it, by the way) and several months back I came across a article about Susan Shie ( www.turtlemoon.com. Posted by Caré @ 7:27 PM. I love to laugh and to make others laugh. . . . Was that funny?

http://nomamacow.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

No More Mama Cow. Monday, October 29, 2007. Time to Get Cracking. Yep, it's been a while. The baby is here - my little girl turned out to be a boy! Michael is five weeks old and is a full-time job! I have a separate site for Michael - you can check it out at http:/ www.thelittlewarrior.com/. Sigh it feels like I'm starting over again. But I know that's not true. I just need to get my head back in the game. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Time to Get Cracking.

No More Mama Cow. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Week #3 Results - A Half Pound More. Lost a half pound this week. Not the stellar results I would have liked, but between a week of travel and being sick as a dog (still) I'm pretty happy. I'm home this week so the goal is to try and stay on track as much as possible. It's hard to get a habit set when you travel so much. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. No loss. No gain. A couple of noteworthy things this week:. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Week #1 Results - 3 pounds down!

No More Mama Cow: Week #2 Results

http://nomamacow.blogspot.com/2009/04/week-2-results.html

No More Mama Cow. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. No loss. No gain. A couple of noteworthy things this week:. NS food arrived about mid-way through the week. Still trying to adjust. All 4 of us got sick this week and I've been on meds that have made my stomach VERY upset. So, eating healthy was not top priority. Had to shorten week by 1 days. I realized that with my travel schedule, I'd never be home on weigh-in day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Week #1 Results - 3 pounds down!

No More Mama Cow: Week ?

http://nomamacow.blogspot.com/2008/03/week.html

No More Mama Cow. Saturday, March 22, 2008. I'm not even sure what week it is, and I guess it really doesn't matter. The important thing is that I'm still moving forward, despite everything that is going on around me. When I weighed in this morning I was pleased to see 204.5. While I'm very anxious to get back under 200 again, it was a thrill to see a number lower than 205 on the scale. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I love to laugh and to make others laugh. . . . No More Mama Cow: May 2009

http://nomamacow.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

No More Mama Cow. Sunday, May 10, 2009. Week 4 and 5. Week 4 was zero. Week 5 was a 1 pound gain. I'm hitting that point where I lose the drive to do this. It seems there's something that always comes up to interfere with my goal - Mikey's surgeries, travel for work, sickness - you name it. Okay, I admit it. I want to lose the weight, but I don't want to work for it or change my eating habits. Pretty bad, huh? But, I'm not willing to do the next miracle cure or give up either. No More Mama Cow: March 2007

http://nomamacow.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

No More Mama Cow. Thursday, March 08, 2007. Been Gone for a While . . Here's Why. Background - I found out about four weeks ago that my husband and I are expecting our second child. We're thrilled, but it has taken me a while to adjust to the idea. I posted this on the NS Shrinker's Blog. Because it was such an honest post (the most honest I've been with myself lately) I thought I should share it here. Not exactly the extra 3000 I seem to be craving . . . So, why am I eating this way? Damn it. That's...

No More Mama Cow: November 2007

http://nomamacow.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

No More Mama Cow. Monday, November 26, 2007. No loss. No gain. That goes for weight and inches. Considering it was T'giving and I did not put myself on restriction, I guess I'm happy with those results. I am struggling with eating right. It seems like I'll do really well for breakfast and lunch, but then I do something stupid around 3:00. That fruit and dairy just doesn't cut it . . . I want CHOCOLATE! It seems this little chocolate habit I developed while preggers is very hard to break. I don't have my ...

http://nomamacow.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

No More Mama Cow. Thursday, March 26, 2009. Another Year Bites the Dust. Wow, it has been over a year since my last post. Where did the time go? Oh yeah, work, baby, work, travel, work, new business, work . . . The good news is that, in this year, I've managed to maintain my weight. So, it's nice to know that I can maintain once I finally reach goal. But, on the down side, there's another year gone where I didn't take the opportunity to finally get to where I want to be. Thursday, August 21, 2014. Music and Soccer for the Bar Mitzvah boy. I went to the fabric store to get some inspiration and found fabrics fitting both elements. But I could not figure out how to put them together. I mulled and mulled and finally decided to separate them into two designs. This way, I reasoned, he can have the music side visible sometimes, and the soccer side visible at other times. I got some more fabric, in bold colors, including some from my stash and here’s the result. Next I went to m...
