the cat in the box theory: July 2010
http://colorcountry.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
I've Crawled Out of My Cave . . . And into the light again! Apparently, Ryan claims I was a bear to live with for the past couple months of our Kentucky adventure. What, me? I'm ALWAYS in a good mood! Well, I am now, anyways. Because I got a job! That's right, after my week of love with Orson Scott Card* I will be working as a website article editor for the University of Kentucky. Neighbor: What do you do? Me: (shrugging shoulders nonchalantly) I'm an editor. Neighbor: Wow, really? Under the ash tree.

the cat in the box theory: Man, U've got to see this!
http://colorcountry.blogspot.com/2012/07/man-uve-got-to-see-this.html
Man, U've got to see this! The crew sitting at the Manchester United stadium. Paul and me. Me and Paul. Paul and I met on the tram to the ManU grounds and he got off on our stop and walked us to the stadium. He is a linguist with seven languages on his resume and a needlepointer. Seriously. He showed me a bookmark he needlepointed. Paul was good fun for the twenty minutes I walked and talked with him. A view of the pitch. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Under the ash tree. Just me: like it or not.

I feel like twirling . . . maybe in slow motion . . . Okay, so I don't know how to put videos on my blog, so you get another link. This is a hilarious commercial about periods. Apparently, the tv powers that be refused to run it because it had the "v" word in it. They changed the commercial to say, "down there," but it was still refused. Here is the version that was finally acceptable. Wwwmetacafe.com/watch/4293588/apology u by kotex. For the Ladies Only . . . Watch the video here, then vote on my poll.

Rant #3: The Illusion of Imperfection. How's everyone doing out there? Here is my next rant on the year: people that use the following phrases on their blogs:. Not to pat myself on the back, but . . . " Translation: Congrats, you just did. Need a ribbon to go with that? I'm just not working hard enough! I made roast chicken, homemade rolls, three vegetable dishes, and a cheesecake. Next time I'll have to do even more . . ." Translation: Look what an amazing person I am! Translation: You suck; I rule.

Community - in or out? I've been thinking that Kentucky has been good for me in many ways. Being here, not knowing a soul and having no (superclose) friends and family around has allowed me to discover things about myself that I didn't know. Here we are not part of a preset "community." We have been able to do what we want, when we want, and how we want. There is no one to approve or disapprove. We have no fear in trying new things. I had no idea Ryan was a talented piano player. Res-Q teaM 2.0. More tha...

the cat in the box theory: Life in London
http://colorcountry.blogspot.com/2012/07/life-in-london.html
Eating lunch in london: Salmon sandwiches, meat pasties, croissants and chocolate mascarpone pudding. In the London eye checking out the view. Leaving Westminster Abbey. Saw the graves of Charles Dickens, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Geoffrey Chaucer, all the former Kings and Queens of England, and much much more! Would love to go back! The kids in front of the Arsenal stadium. I thought Ethan and Ryan were going to die of delight. I LOVE YOUR BLOG. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Under the ash tree.

the cat in the box theory: Smokies
http://colorcountry.blogspot.com/2011/12/smokies.html
I am done with my classes this semester! I took my last final and wrote my last paper as of yesterday. I am so glad it is over! In order to celebrate, the resqteam has decided to take a vacay in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, home of the Great Smoky Mountains. The cabin we rented is here: http:/ rental.cabinsofthesmokymountains.com/gatlinburg-cabin-rental/Memory Maker.html. The kids are most excited about the queen bunk bed set, which they get to sleep in. I didn't even know such a thing existed!

New England to England. Ethan and Maddie with their friend Simon after a soccer team reunion tournament. Maddie calling from the iconic red phone booth in London. It was covered with about fifty stickers that was promoting a massage by someone named "Debby." I wonder if she includes any extra services. Walking from the Westminster Abbey toward parliament and Big Ben. He was referring to my iPhone case, which had the ManU logo on it. I was a target for his jokes for the next hour. Touche!

Maddie taking in the breezy evening of Liverpool. The streets where the Beatles walked and wandered. Maddie and I attempted to rescue this poor cat, but the cat would have none of us taking it to the vet. It clawed me and ran away. No good deed goes unpunished. Taunting Ryan that I get to chill in our flat in England while he has to work for the man. Just kidding. I think this was the day I had to take a cold shower because our heat went out. The Brits were unsympathetic to my plight. Under the ash tree.

STUCKILICIOUS: Mom's bday and Mother's Day
http://stuckilicious.blogspot.com/2015/06/moms-bday-and-mothers-day.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. Mom's bday and Mother's Day. My birthday was a bit of a bust with soccer, tutoring, kids home sick from school, and other things going on, but we managed to squeeze in some fun. Brandon made my traditional rice krispie cake and we got to go out to dinner with my parents to tea leaf which was delicious. Posted by Brandon and Becca. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
