zucchini linguine with tomato sauce – vfb

https://vfbnancy.com/2015/06/19/zucchini-linguine-with-tomato-sauce

365 days of vegetables for breakfast. Zucchini linguine with tomato sauce. June 19, 2015. Today is the second birthday of this blog! I offered this dish for brunch last week. I have posted a few recipes for squash pasta. But this “linguine” has the texture and taste of a real pasta dish. I served it with leftover pressed cabbage salad and fresh sourdough bread, perfect for sopping up the few morsels that remained on our plates. 4 small ripe tomatoes. Fresh black pepper to taste. Peel and slice the garlic;.

365 days of vegetables for breakfast. September 21, 2014. September 22, 2014. I plan to continue to post my whole breakfast, including vegetables and grains, but today’s veggies-only post is inspired by this beautiful watercolor made by my friend Benjamin Marcus. Again) in the 2014 Martha Stewart American Made contest. 1 heirloom tomato (red). Blanch them for about one minute or less: when stems turn a more intense shade of green, they are done. 365 days of vegetables for breakfast. The way you eat, one. Vegetable at a time. Eating vegetables for breakfast can CHANGE. Relationship with food because it changes the way you absorb, digest and metabolize your meal. For one year, from June 19, 2013 until June 19, 2014 I posted the vegetable dish I ate – and fed my family – every morning, along with the recipe. I showed you what I ate for breakfast for 365 days. Wherever I ate: in a restaurant, hotel, airplane or whole foods store. I invite you to EAT.

latke spires – vfb

https://vfbnancy.com/2014/12/18/latke-spires

365 days of vegetables for breakfast. December 18, 2014. Classic dish, new form. The good news is this latke needs no “glue” in the form of eggs and flour. When tightly wrapped it self-adheres. 1 large onion (red or yellow). 1 large apple (any variety but Granny Smith is especially good). 4-6 Tablespoons safflower oil. A few pinches salt. Wash the carrot, parsnip, zucchini, yellow squash, Trevisano and apple by immersing each of them separately in water. Dredge them on a brown paper bag and set them aside.

snow day! – vfb

https://vfbnancy.com/2015/02/10/snow-day

365 days of vegetables for breakfast. February 10, 2015. It didn’t amount to the predicted two feet, but the snow did allow us much needed time to have a leisurely breakfast of Israeli couscous, raw carrot flowers and steamed broccoli. Quick-cooking with a slightly chewy texture and a slightly nutty flavor, Israeli couscous is a good grain option for breakfast. Most pasta-loving children will like it and some will even want to sprinkle grated cheese on it. 1 thick, large carrot. 1 cup Israeli couscous.

Meet Rabbi Herman | Torah from Jericho

The “False Prophet”. August 16, 2015. One of the central institutions of our tradition is that of the prophet. Prophets are men of God, having direct revelation as to what God wants of us. They have great power-even to cause changes in the behavior of the kings! An entire section of our Bible is devoted to the great prophets of our tradition. It is with this in mind that there is a peculiar section in the middle of the portion. After all, his sign or wonder came to pass and the word. August 10, 2015.
