Forgetting | Raising Magnolias

Because it's never too late for happily ever after…. Tonight I was driving away from Clemmons park. Clemmons park is at the end of Teakwood road. Annabelle’s house sits on Teakwood road. If you’re newer to my blog, Annabelle’s house was my house. Until it became his house. And I’m there almost daily. Dropping books, picking up baseball cleats, la la la. But today it was hard. That was my house. Last week, a blogger for Huffington Post, Peggy Nolan wrote this:. Somedays it’s harder to forget. You are comm...

Because it's never too late for happily ever after…. Today is June 1st. My littles officially “moved in” with their Dad for his summer parenting time. I will still see them. Almost everyday, in fact. And for that I’m beyond thankful. But knowing it will be the end of the month before I can read and rub and tuck. Well, that’s a harder grace. So tonight I’m downstairs. And I’m watching the clock because omorrow, I have to be up early. Tomorrow, we start a new kids’ sports clinic. Tomorrow, we have ballgames.

Because it's never too late for happily ever after…. I don’t read blogs. Friends are always sending me blogs and I think, what a great blog, what a thoughtful friend. And then I don’t read it. The only blog I’ve ever read faithfully was Ann Voskamp’s A Holy Experience and I even had to take a break from her because sometimes I would forget that I wasn’t Ann. The words and thoughts and beliefs. They can blur and I forget. Oh yea. That was Ann. Set them yourself and they become principles. 8220;I had to tr...

Because it's never too late for happily ever after…. Archive for the month “March, 2015”. I met with a friend recently who just happens to be a marketing whiz and designed our new logo and she said something to me that stuck. 8220;It doesn’t matter what you do, it only matters what people. It doesn’t matter at this point what’s going on inside our studio.what matters from a marketing point of view is what people. Is going on inside our studio. And he didn’t hug me back. And I burst into tears. We started...

Because it's never too late for happily ever after…. Easter in Arkansas. One of my favorite things. The grass has greened and there are touches of color. My parents have a courtyard in the middle of their house and I’m sitting on a pollen-covered patio chair wanting time to stand just a. But it doesn’t. I hear activity in the house but I’m wearing my invisible cloak. So that no-one can see me. Sitting. Sunning. Listening. My sister’s in the kitchen and she tells Coulter to take a shower. I breathe it in.

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation: June 2014
http://meanderingsfromahigherelevation.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Thursday, June 26, 2014. Lucas Meets his Great-Grandma and Family! I was so worried about the flight but this little guy was perfect! But Lucas was so good. He was smiling at everyone on the flight. To the point where it was awkward because he wouldn't look away from people, just smiling and entertaining them! He did finally fall asleep.on the descent! He slept about 10 minutes of the entire flight.but oh he was such a happy little baby, I didn't care one bit! Celebra...

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Friday, May 22, 2015. Low Key Week - Lucas' 1st Ear Infection and Volunteering at the Nursing Home. Pretty low-key week we've had! Busy weekend with date night on Friday, then a birthday/going away party on Saturday. Sunday I ran 5 miles along the reservoir ans Jason brought Cooper and Lucas for a walk which made the run a lot more fun. It was way hillier than I had hoped.seriously is there anywhere that is flat in Colorado for me to get a good run in? Jason made a si...

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation: 1/2 Marathon Training Lessons
http://meanderingsfromahigherelevation.blogspot.com/2015/07/12-marathon-training-lessons.html
Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Tuesday, July 7, 2015. 1/2 Marathon Training Lessons. The actual race I remember being nervous before hand. I remember finding my coral and running over the start line. I remember seeing Jason about three times during the race, each time me spotting him which I still think is funny! I know my time for the race was 2:22 and that has really messed with my training for THIS half marathon! Now imagine doing 5 miles.round and round and round and round! Its just been SO HARD.

Fitness The Way It Should Be. 5 Reasons You (and your children! Should Be Eating Breakfast. Posted by Myra Katherine Hale. Asymp; Leave a comment. I’m not a nutritionist. My children and I would eat buttered noodles every night of the week (except of course on Pizza night and Pizza night comes at least 2 nights of the week) if it weren’t for my husband who likes. He recently tried to feed our children French Toast. Emma Claire started crying and said, “There’s stuffing in it! I can, but I don’t. So These...

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. 3,000 Miles Traveled and We're HOME. We just did a 3,000 mile (round tip) road trip.longest road trip for me by far and obviously longest for Lucas and we had a great time! Who'd have thought I'd survive? And who'd have thought a 7 month old would be so much fun on a road trip? It was such a whirlwind of activities but so much fun! Wow, did we do a lot in those 13 days on the road! Saturday, August 2, 2014. It's been really crazy busy but a...

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. The Eve of New Years Eve. We tried getting a sitter for a New Years Eve dinner.an early dinner but we had no luck. Then Jason suggested we go to dinner the night before and yay our nanny was able to do it! Jason planned a romantic night at a steakhouse for us. I, as always, am missing Chicago terribly, so we decided to go to Denver for dinner and drinks. It was FREEZING out.like below zero freezing but we had a great. He loves all dogs, a...

Fitness The Way It Should Be. PS Sorry for the Fail and thank you for Grace. Posted by Myra Katherine Hale. Asymp; Leave a comment. Well I’ve had my first real criticism. The last time I put myself out there for any type of criticism, I was wearing a bathing suit and high heels and proclaiming my desires for world peace. I offended someone that I think rather highly of and that makes you stop. And when I blog, I try really hard to keep the stories about myself. SHE DOESN’T HAVE ANY FRIENDS”. I shared tha...

http://meanderingsfromahigherelevation.blogspot.com/2015/06/moms-night-out.html
Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Saturday, June 20, 2015. Tuesday night I planned a Mom's Night out for our Playgroup at Canvas and Cocktails. I haven't ever done one before and am not artistic at all! Only one friend, Val. ended up coming but we had a blast and we got to talk a lot more than had it been a big group! It was so much fun and I really loved painting. Unfortunately my big flower got a little crazy but the experience was so much fun! Thanks Val for joining me! June 24, 2015 at 5:40 PM.

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Friday, July 25, 2014. Lucas meets Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Jones and family! Man it's been a long time! This summer has been nuts but so fun! Watching Lucas grow has definitely been the highlight if my summer so far. He is curious about everything and still such a happy, content, easy-going little guy! But the overnight trip did work nicely for the child who loves to sleep in his car seat! Lucas also got to meet aunts, uncles and cousins on Jason's dad's side ...

Chronicles of owl family. February 3, 2015. Our labour and delivery story started on Monday, January 12. I spent the day before cleaning house, packing a bag and barely coping with the anxiety about the next day. We got up early morning of January 14. Because it's never too late for happily ever after…. 8220;Emma Claire, you look just like your Mother.”. Like, yes, I know. There’s no enthusiasm. And she doesn’t say thank you. I suppose she’s not sure if it’s a compliment or not. She recently told me she’ll probably die. Because I had her when I was old. I tried explaining that it didn’t work that way, but then I stopped. You think I’m old? So maybe she’s not thrilled with the idea of looking like her tired, old mother. But I always fail. And that she ...
