Wildly typical, borderline tyrannical. The great gumboot mystery. November 9th, 2004. I recently had a chance to see a real craftsman at work, under the oddest conditions. This year, i took a break from chores to watch them work and was deeply moved, as ludicrous as that sounds. so, here's a little poem i wrote about it, entitled 'love machine':. Standing in the doorway in the autumn light. I watch these two men in a dance of power and mundanity. Such a menial task, done with such grace.
