Life in Kenya
Monday, October 13, 2008. A long, overdue update. I'm sorry it's been a while since I've posted on here. It's hard to keep up with explaining everything that is going on since each day brings so many challenges, joys, questions, and interesting adventures. I'll do my best to catch up on some of the recent highlights. I felt like such a little kid but I loved it. The next day we went snorkeling in the Indian Ocean! We were out on the water for about 3 hours and saw awesome fish and coral reefs. We spe...

Our Special Little Sprouts :). February 24, 2015. Sweet Moses with a smile that will melt your heart in an instant! Moses and Lucy are not the most coordinated when it comes to swallowing, which is why they both only eat pureed food. A few months back Moses was quite small and struggled to gain weight. After finding out about Moses, a team from the States blessed us with many cans of Pediasure. Since starting the Pediasure Moses has grown like a weed and actually has some chunk on him now! I have been ba...

for travelers, the stars are guides | You, though, you'll have stars like nobody else
For travelers, the stars are guides. You, though, you'll have stars like nobody else. Traveling is like flirting with life…. Bull;12/06/2010 • 1 Comment. I guess I should explain the title. It comes from a quote that I love, “Traveling is like flirting with life. Its like saying ‘I would stay and love you, but I have to go; this is my station.’ ” So I guess today I am saying goodbye to my three-month love affair. We will start off with the things that I am going to miss. With Tim the Tubeman. I am also g...

Knit and Weave - Macro. Designing these samples created the opportunity for me to combine a love of colour and texture while developing knowledge of knitted and woven textiles. Working from macro images of fruit and vegetation essential elements were extracted to design and construct this range of fabrics. Becca's Adventures in Nicaragua. I'm in Estelí, Nicaragua (Central America) from May 8, 2008 - August 15, 2008. Estelí is a village in the mountains in the northern part of Nicaragua. Tuesday, August 5, 2008. So, I thought for a while that I was going to go all three months without anything going wrong, but I thought I´d fill you guys in on a medical situation. Just a short re-cap. How was this possible? Anyhow, for 6 days I went back to this dentist. Each day for 4 hours I would sit in that chair an...

New Zealand Adventures
April 7, 2011. I absolutely LOVED the North. This is a huge Kauri tree! On the way, James had us stop here, and also to his favorite place to get meat pies.I'm not a huge fan of them, but they're pretty good! But when we got out of the vans, James gave us all Lava lavas! I am going to miss James so much. All throughout the trip he buys us fruit, lollies, and all kinds of food for us to try. And he has a story for everything! Jim, James and Linda. Where the Treaty was signed! I love Bay of Islands! Sendin...

working hard, trying to be nice
Working hard, trying to be nice. Back home and traversing the world of urban education. again. This time, hoping to see huge things happen in a very different school. Saturday, August 7, 2010. This is Ruby. She was seven months when I got her, and she slept the two days we drove on the road back home with her. I love her.
