183; GROUP 013. Понеділок, 4 серпня 2014 р. Жаль, що коли гаснуть вуличні вогні (о другій ночі), Арктур вже ховається за горизонт. Щоправда вгорі у полі зору мого балкону з'являється Вега, така собі компенсація. Вчора вирішив трохи пофотографувати, бо чи то зір уже такий слабкий, чи то просто в місті так погано видно, але бачу тільки до 3 зоряної величини. Близько до горизонту і на фото теж мало що видно. Таки дійсно там дві зірки. А от вище у небі видніше більше. Невелика 3D схема найближчих зірок.

A few of my orders have arrived over the past couple of days. I have now received the 4 strand enamelled copper magnet wire, the SN47HC595s, capacitors, breadboard pins to which I will solder the magnet wire and heat shrink which I'm hoping I can use to hold the LEDs in place. Even though I knew their dimensions, had checked the size several times against a ruler and tried to imagine an LED relative to the 2mm aluminium tubing, I didn't appreciate just how small they would be when it actually comes to working with them. However, ask me to tell you where Procyon is relative to Sol from the surface of Tau Ceti e and I'm stuffed. I've used star charts and planispheres since I was a child, and I can identify the better known stars, but I do not have any sort of mental model of how they are positioned relative to each other in 3-dimensional space. Below are two photographs, one of the contacts on the back of the LED and another of the contacts on the side of the LED.
