I Married the Klondike by Laura Berton. This book has been on my radar for many, many years. I have no idea why it took me so long to get around to reading it.but anyway, I'm glad the day finally came! There is no real plot to the novel, just the meandering story of life at the time. The Makioka Sisters by Junichiro Tanizaki. Culturally speaking, the sisters at the centre of this novel are from a declining upper class family. Their manner is formal and every family issues is accompanied with a broader issues of social repercussions. At once, the sisters are very close and also so constrained by social order that they can hardly express their thoughts and feelings. I found this a strange dynamic throughout the novel, both interesting and frustrating. Things I Loved About This Novel.

Nikolski by Nicolas Dickner. I read the book in translation (because I am a bad Canadian and don't speak, read or understand French). Just see the mischief in the young lad's eyes! We also saw the Sens play, or, more importantly, the Jets, who lost. :(. And this game was Tony's first NHL game. Good lad, supporting the good side :). Reids Renovations

Sunday, September 18, 2011. The engine is in working order but quite old and some parts are rusty. I will be removing the engine next. Engine will be completely stripped and refurbished. Links to this post. Have stripped out all the interior of the body and and boot liner so that I can get a better look at what will need to be repaired. So far this is the list of body repairs needed. New Floor Wells (old one will be completely removed and replaced). Electrics are in pretty good order so will be re-used.
