Mannings cooking tonight, leftover penne pasta. I baked olive bread for an appetizer and it was a hit and they wanted it again on Tuesday. Sunday, June 14, 2009. Montisi - Saturday and Sunday. We went south to Chiusi because it looked like a lake there but we didn't see it. Instead we went to the Train Station to check to see where we all are leaving from that are taking the train from this area. It's about a 45 minute drive, but we took the scenic route and it took over an hour. Elizabeth's brother, sisterinlaw and her sister made dinner, cioppino. It was wonderful! Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Munich, Day 1. Our Romantische Strasse bus trip was very interesting from Rothenburg. We stopped in several villages for 20 to 30 minutes which gave us time to wander around and stretch. Dickenspiel was a town like Rothenburg, but it did not have any damage from the war. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. There was a three day celebration for the 300 years war. There were groups of people dressed like each conqueror, I guess, drums, fifes, and some with bugles. Some had horses also. There were tens of thousands of people there on Sunday for the BIG parade, but it thinned out on Monday. Sunday, June 7, 2009. Jamie and Fra fixed lasagna last night, we ate about ten, but it was really good and everyone was jet lagged and went to bed immediately after. Today we stayed around Montisi, walking the little streets and admiring the houses with the beautiful flowers. Tomorrow we will drive to a couple of hilltowns in the area and to Siena and stop by the store at Sinalunga to stock up on some food and wine- No Pepsi here, only Coke!
