The Finish / Prize Giving. The finish line will be just above the Rakaia Domain, the Rakaia Methven Barhill Road will be closed from Bakers Road to the Rakaia Domain. This will be a fast and exciting finish for everyone. Prize giving will be held at the South Rakaia Hotel. A beverage will be supplied to all competitors at the end of the event when you return your transponder. The beverage is part of your Race Registration. We have some fantastic spot prizes plus first, second, and third in each category.

These categories are the same as Around Brunner so we have the same categories for the Mini Series. Ride the Bridge - Recreational Ride. There are no age group categories just Male and Female, entry fee for the Ride the Rakaia Recreational Ride is $49.00. Further details on the bus back to Rakaia will be updated here.

Around Brunner started as a 130km sealed circuit cycle ride taking you through some of the most stunning scenery the West Coast of New Zealand has to offer. In 2013 we added the Around the Bridges 30km ride and in 2015 the Enduro 2 laps of the traditional ride being 260km. The HITS Around the Bridges 30km. Around Brunner Enduro 260km. The Finish / Prize Giving. Welcome to Ride the Rakaia. This amazing event is different than any other bike race because you can't do what you can in this event any other day of the week. On Saturday the 27th February 2016 you will ride across the Rakaia River Bridge with up to 1,000 other cyclists all at once, the peloton will be approximately 1 kilometre long and will be in a controlled start until you have crossed the Rakaia River Bridge and the Rakaia Overhead Bridge on State Highway one.
