The Sun will rise ever earlier each day. Sunday, January 18, 2009. Old tunes, new lyrics. To the tune of that old Johnny Horton classic:. Said: "Susan you're a...

Return to Alaska, A Journey North. Saturday, March 7, 2009. More of the Musher's Banquet. Now inside the banquet hall and at my table:. My table was down in the center four rows back from the stage, very nice:. Immediately behind me at the next table towards the front was Libby Riddles. She's the first woman to win the Iditarod. She won in 1985. Thanks for the videos! You're doing a great job reporting. Ask someone to take some photos of YOU too. love, lb. March 8, 2009 at 6:20 PM. The History of Mushing.

Return to Alaska, A Journey North. Friday, July 10, 2009. My trip to Alaska becomes a news item. Since I'm entrenched with the neighborhood dog culture and provide pet caretaking for several neighbor families, one of my client-friends felt my trip to Alaska was news worthy. She interviewed me and wrote this article for our neighborhood newsletter. The feed back from friends has been all positive. We had fun writing it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Return to Alaska, A Journey North. Wednesday, March 4, 2009. I've flown from San Antonio to Houston, Houston to Seattle and finally Seattle to Anchorage. Each stop was fairly short and I didn't have to try to run across the airport to make my next flight. Cousin Lisa made it easy for me. I'm checked into my hotel room and have had a hot bowl of soup for dinner. I'm set for going to Wasilla for the Vet Check tomorrow. Rest, and mush, mush, tomorrow! March 4, 2009 at 8:12 PM. Return to Alaska, A Journey North. Wednesday, October 1, 2008. In five months I'll board a plane in San Antonio and fly to Houston. From Houston I take a flight to Seattle. In Seattle I change planes and fly the final leg to Anchorage. Its really going to happen. Cousin Lisa found the best routes and prices. She got us a very good deal, I think. So, I'm preparing my Alaskan winter gear, buying good cold weather clothing, and making arrangements in Anchorage. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Return to Alaska, A Journey North: Vet Check in Wasilla
http://returntoalaskaajourneynorth.blogspot.com/2009/03/vet-check-in-wasilla.html
Return to Alaska, A Journey North. Thursday, March 5, 2009. Vet Check in Wasilla. Before asking, no, I didn't see Sarah Palin. Just some of her old faded campaign signs and a few about lipstick and pitbulls. Helen has graciously given over her time and vehicle to become the Texas Taxi for me and Betty Waldon, another Iditarod. Infected Texan. Here we are arriving at Iditarod. HQ for the Vet Check. The Vet-Check takes place in the parking lot of the Iditarod. Outside temps were just under 20', so the HQ o...
