February 24, 2013. To Kigoma and Back. We sometimes receive (more common in the places that cling most closely to the colonial past). Kigoma Train Station, with Lake Tanganyika in the background. As a day trip from Kigoma, we travelled to Ujiji, the small fishing and slaving port where Henry Stanley met David Livingstone and made his famous presumption. Needless to say, our porter-less trip was a great deal smoother, and our handshake will probably be more quickly forgotten in the annals of time.
