China 2009 Eclipse Page. All Media require Quicktime 7. Internet Explorer users may be asked to load the ActiveX QuickTime Plugin. Well the skies did not magically clear as they did in Russia, but we did not get skunked. This was the view when we arrived at the site about 7 AM. The eclipse was supposed to begin in about 1.5 hours. For more see the page on eclipse day (7-22) below. I once again had the pleasure of travelling with TravelQuest International. November 14 - Eclipse Day. After nearly a week of intermittent rain in Papua New Guinea and two days of sailing south with barf bags along the handrails of the ship, we arrived back in Cairns, Australia. The TravelQuest. Team included eclipse meteorologist Jay Anderson. So our group had an advantage as far as weather planning.
