BOBbies Ride the Rockies: Independence Day
http://bobbiesriderockies.blogspot.com/2007/06/independence-day.html
BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Friday, June 22, 2007. We accomplished what we came here for - we climbed Independence Pass. We crossed the continental divide today and wound up in 1972. I'm posting with the treo - which means I'm typing with my thumbs - so this is going to be short. We had a great climb. Independence pass was stunningly beautiful - I took so many photos I filled the card by the time we reached the top. We'll upload those tomorrow night and tell our stories from the Airport Hampton.

http://bobbiesriderockies.blogspot.com/2007/06/day-1-995-miles-4700-ft-of-climbing.html
BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Day 1: 99.5 miles, 4,700 ft of climbing, half a lung. Where do I begin? Perhaps where I left off. It started sprinkling as we left Starbucks Saturday night. We walked out to the corner and flagged a shuttle bus - such great service! So there I was, the night before the big ride, sleeping on the ground. And to make matters worse, I could feel that cold moving into my chest. It was a long night. I think I selpt an hour. By the time we were ready to start ri...

BOBbies Ride the Rockies: Day 6: Independence day - the saga
http://bobbiesriderockies.blogspot.com/2007/06/day-6-independence-day-saga.html
BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Saturday, June 23, 2007. Day 6: Independence day - the saga. Sunny and warm, changing to blustery and rainy. And checked it with Bike Security. The wind blew hard all night, buffeting the tents and knocking over several port-a-potties in the lower camping area. We were in the upper camping area, thank goodness! The climb was not hard. There were a few parts that were steep enough for long enough to cause people with heavy gear ratios to struggle, but we never ran out of gear...

BOBbies Ride the Rockies: Day 1: The long and windy road
http://bobbiesriderockies.blogspot.com/2007/06/day-1-long-and-windy-road.html
BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Monday, June 18, 2007. Day 1: The long and windy road. Frisco to Steamboat Springs. Sunny with gusting winds. If you were looking for this post on Sunday evening, my apologies. After 7 hours on the road followed by a pasta dinner and a bottle of Fat Tire, I needed to sleep. You cyclists are probably doing the math right now. If it took Keri and Lisa 7 hours to ride 99 miles, their average speed must have been….SLOW! Ride the Rockies Desktop Pictures. Day 3: Things die out here.

BOBbies Ride the Rockies: Rocky Mountain High
http://bobbiesriderockies.blogspot.com/2007/06/rockie-mountain-high.html
BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Friday, June 15, 2007. It's going to be a beautiful day in Frisco, site of the ride start: 74 degrees and sunny, winds out of the NW at 5 to 10 mph and 33% humidity. Gotta love it! It's so beautiful here - mountain sides are lush green and the tops are snowy white. We're heading out to Breckenridge to scope out some of our favorite haunts from the " Greatest Birthday Bash Ever 2007. Then we'll return to Frisco to put the bikes together and get in a short ride. Happy trails to you.

BOBbies Ride the Rockies: Don't pack like a girl
http://bobbiesriderockies.blogspot.com/2007/06/dont-pack-like-girl.html
BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Sunday, June 10, 2007. Don't pack like a girl. Two things I always do before a bike trip: check the weather and figure out how to pack only essentials in the smallest amount of space — one duffel. That’s right, only one duffel (Keri’s advice: don’t pack like a girl. Excuse me, I think you mean Princess). If it seems like I’m packing for snow, you’re right. Last week, the forecast for Frisco, Colorado – the ride start – was 31 degrees and snow showers. Thanks for joining our high...

BOBbies Ride the Rockies: What a stellar day!

BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Friday, June 15, 2007. What a stellar day! Here's Breckenridge from Boreas Pass. looks a lot different than it did in January. Thanks for joining our high altitude adventure. For the past 3 months we have been training — as best we can in our flat, sea level homeland — for a week of riding in the Rocky Mountains. BOBbies Ride the Rockies: Day 2: 44 Easy Miles
http://bobbiesriderockies.blogspot.com/2007/06/day-2-44-easy-miles.html
BOBbies Ride the Rockies. Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Day 2: 44 Easy Miles. Today was my test ride day. I had picked up a 49cm S-Works Roubaix last night (they didn't have an S-Works Ruby in my size). That bike is so light! It's close in weight to my Cannondale, maybe lighter because it has Dura Ace components. compared to the loaded rig (which isn't a light bike to begin with) that I've been riding, it felt like a rocket! The sun was warm when we got onto the course, but the air was still pleasantly cool fo...
