http://gassawaysadventures.blogspot.com/2015/06/gremany.html
This blog is intended to keep family and friends updated on our current adventures. Thursday, June 25, 2015. After another great breakfast in the garden at Les Agnates, we hit the road and headed towards the Black Forest. With plenty of time for the drive, we programmed Daniella to avoid the toll roads and we drove the secondary roads, enjoying the French countryside and the small villages we passed through. By mid-afternoon we had arrived in Zell im Wiesental. CATHIE, SILKE, MUM, AND HANSJORG. Any visit...

Gassaway's Adventures: October 2013
http://gassawaysadventures.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
This blog is intended to keep family and friends updated on our current adventures. Saturday, October 26, 2013. FALL COLORS, A LITTLE HISTORY AND GREAT FOOD. With Hansjorg in the lead, since he professes to know where he is going, we set off on an uphill climb through the trees. I can't stop taking pictures of the vivid colors that surround us. The pathways are littered with the fallen leaves, so thick in places it is like walking on a soft cushion. After about 18 months of fierce combat, both sides bega...

http://gassawaysadventures.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
This blog is intended to keep family and friends updated on our current adventures. Saturday, January 18, 2014. A SHORT BREAK ON THE CENTRAL COAST. Getting the urge for some travel, we used our 43rd anniversary as an excuse for a short getaway to California's Central Coast. We found a nice B&B in Cambria called Her Castle. We took the short drive down to Morro Bay and paid a visit to Montana de Oro State Park. Day two found us taking another short hike to the Harmony Headlands. Another state park which m...

This blog is intended to keep family and friends updated on our current adventures. Saturday, August 30, 2014. A GREAT WAR STORY. Before we get to the title of this post an update of our travels. We stopped just west of Chicago in a nice county park, (not Cook County) where we stayed for 3 nights. Time for laundry and resupply, as there is a Costco and the last Trader Joe's that we will see for some time. A beautiful campground as you can tell by the photo. Now for the war story. Steel Boat, Iron Hearts".

Gassaway's Adventures: September 2014
http://gassawaysadventures.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
This blog is intended to keep family and friends updated on our current adventures. Saturday, September 27, 2014. THE REST OF CANADA. We headed further east, to just about as far east as you can get without getting wet, at least in Nova Scotia. Actually the easternmost part of Nova Scotia is Cape Breton Island, reached by way of a causeway, so a ferry is not required to get there. We based ourselves in Baddeck, Nova Scotia because it's the start of the Cabot Trail. This is the laundress who was trying to...

Gassaway's Adventures: May 2013
http://gassawaysadventures.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
This blog is intended to keep family and friends updated on our current adventures. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. We did manage one short excursion between rain showers to Kootenai Falls on the Kootenai River. Being springtime, the rivers are at capacity with snow melt which added to the thunderous roar of the falls. What they lack in height is made up by the shear volume of water in the cascades. Nearby is a suspension bridge and moves about as you walk across it. Not for the faint of heart. Until the last day...

For those readers who are unfamiliar with Anza Borrego Desert State Park. It is the largest state park in the country and is located in eastern San Diego County. Having lived in San Diego for our entire lives, Cathie and I were surprised to learn that Patty and Willie had never been to Borrego, so we took it upon ourselves to remedy the situation. http://gassawaysadventures.blogspot.com/2015/06/france-and-germany.html
This blog is intended to keep family and friends updated on our current adventures. Monday, June 22, 2015. I have been remiss in neglecting my duties as a blogger. Cathie and I were enjoying ourselves to the point that I had no desire to post to the blog. We've been home now for two weeks and having been told by one of my readers that they were waiting, I figured I better put the fingers to the keyboard and get everyone caught up on the final two weeks in Europe. OUR ROOM MAKING US FEEL WELCOME. On our f...
