The Little Farm that Would. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Support NPPG's Sliding Scale with the Promo Code: LLWA. In early March I received an email from Dan Engel of the Non-Profit Purchasing Group. NPPG) I was intrigued by the idea, but as With Alacrity. Dan called me back within a half hour. Of us small groups are out here struggling to make a difference. Emails flew, calls exchanged and Dan offered us a discount code while he contemplated a breakdown of how a sliding scale should break out. And ...Which...

Ranch Alacrity: August 2008
http://ranchalacrity.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
The Little Farm that Would. Saturday, August 30, 2008. Not what you're thinking gals! But that would be nice as well. After a few months of a horrid shortage of labor at the Ranch, suddenly it's men! Jim, our Ranch Advisor - more like a Mentor, flew home after recovering from surgery in Michigan. I don't know who was happier to see whom at the Eagle airport, but I'm glad he's home from his other home. We are busy planning finishing old projects and starting new already. I'm recharging my batteries. A sma...

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. I get a happy thrill seeing the recycle bins that populate our Ranch. Not only are we doing the right thing, but it sure cuts down on our costs at the landfill. Visiting the dump instead of having curbside service is a reality check, so is. It But the recycling stations. Littered about Eagle County aren't the only places to recycle. And then there's just giving it away for FREE through the newspapers, craigslist. Reduce is the hardest and most important of the 3 Rs. Jimmy Cart...

http://ranchalacrity.blogspot.com/2009/11/freya-in-cabin.html
The Little Farm that Would. Monday, November 9, 2009. Freya in the Cabin. Fall is insanely busy at the Ranch but we've been very photo conscious because we are applying to Big Dogs, Huge Paws. So this is Spring '08, Evening chores are finished, and I hear the strangest noise upon the inside stairs - sounds that any child would expect upon the roof on a any given Christmas Eve.and up pops Freya, my favorite of the yearlings. She'd dine on this for weeks, getting a larger share of beet pulp until the other...

Ranch Alacrity: Teeka, our baby Reindeer
http://ranchalacrity.blogspot.com/2008/12/teeka-our-baby-reindeer.html
The Little Farm that Would. Saturday, December 6, 2008. Teeka, our baby Reindeer. Teeka has been very elusive since she was born this May. Today was her first day to be separated from her mother for the late afternoon and evening. The calf and mother honk to each other, and Teeka ran about the pasture honking for Mom after the ladies had left for an evening display and round of reindeer rides at "A Grand Holiday" in Glenwood Springs CO. Ranch Alacrity: March 2010
http://ranchalacrity.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
The Little Farm that Would. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Lost my shoe in the mud. I need some Sweet Tea. I lost my shoe twice. It's officially springlike enough to qualify for some sweet tea and porch sitting in the sun. Vitamin D Here We Come! Today's sun was happily shared with Chef Rick Kangas and his lovely friend Miss Lucy. I can't express how nice it was to just "be" in the sun with lovely company, snoozing puppies, no phones or electronics, and nature enveloping us. Evaporated Cane Sugar - 1/2 cup.

Ranch Alacrity: October 2008
http://ranchalacrity.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
The Little Farm that Would. Friday, October 31, 2008. Jack in a Wheel Chair. After almost almost two months of Friday afternoons of bookwork and dog interaction on the Ranch, it was time for a Field Trip. Our Quickie wheelchair was all serviced and the tires pumped to prime pressure. I selcted two dawgs for this trip, Bo'sun and Katie. Bo's is an excellent puller - for me. Katie has been prepped, but has never been tested on real sidewalks. The sidewalk slants towards the road. People won't meet your eye.
