jessica's abroad blog: February 2009
http://jessicabroadblog.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 9, 2009. Look under this post for my recap of my trip to Manchester. For now, here's two videos from my trip! I needed to appreciate London a little bit more. And this was remedied by going to Manchester. But, turns out, I loved Manchester so much. That's what it was like with these three. It was like nothing ever happened in those two years. The gang two years ag0). Here's a view from the Manchester Eye. Hopefully plans work out and the three of them will come visit me for a day soon.

jessica's abroad blog: Dublin: Learning the Irish Way
http://jessicabroadblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/dublin-learning-irish-way.html
Thursday, April 9, 2009. Dublin: Learning the Irish Way. You know, every country I've been in so far . all of the stereotypes are true. The French are pretty, conceited, and bundled up. The Scottish say 'aye' and 'wee' and wear kilts. The Swedish are tall, blonde, and shy. The British are loud, bold, and rich. Well, the Irish. You know what the Irish are. They're drinkers. The next day, we did most of our touring before ending up at Gogarty's again. Our last day was Monday, but it rained. Just like t...

jessica's abroad blog: Swedish Learning
http://jessicabroadblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/swedish-learning.html
Thursday, April 9, 2009. On my second day in Sweden, Vanessa, Denis and I trekked over to the Varmlands Museum after we had a lovely half-Swedish breakfast of cheese sandwiches and this dessert soup with ice cream. We couldn't read a word at the museum, but it turned out to be really interesting with random paintings, a much too fun kid exhibit, and a history of the Varmlands area, which is where Karlstad is. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Braving the Scottish Wind. Walking around the Scott Monument. A View from the Castle. Jess being Jess at the Castle. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Edinburgh, Day Three and Glasgow For a Day. Day Three was definitely day of walking. Carmen and I started our day by climbing the Scott Monument, which was made in 1840 by a man named George Meikle Kemp. It's 200 feet high, and has four observation levels. We climbed 287 steps, and got a certificate at the end! Woooops. *collar tug*.

jessica's abroad blog: Snowy Sweden
http://jessicabroadblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/snowy-sweden.html
Thursday, April 9, 2009. My first impression of Sweden was a snowy one. Deciding to drop buckets the day I arrived, it made travelling around by foot in the tiny town of Karlstad an interesting one, especially after the fact that as soon as I set foot on Vanessa's doorstep, I fell and got a pretty nasty bruise on my right knee. While Vanessa, Denis, and Jamie went to go see the Hives (was bummed I didn't because it was in Sweden! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

jessica's abroad blog: Exploring Karlstad
http://jessicabroadblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/exploring-karlstad.html
Thursday, April 9, 2009. By Monday, most of the snow had thawed down in Karlstad. So Vanessa took me around the town on a little tour. We discovered that Swedish people only work Wednesdays to Fridays, and had a long contemplation on how they hell they stay alive because all they do is shop. She took me past the "Entertainment Factory" where all the cool kids go, a salon dedicated to Elvis, and a church that has an interior that's almost all white. I've really missed Vanessa. We've been living togeth...

jessica's abroad blog: January 2009
http://jessicabroadblog.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Random late night facts and musings. There's a buzzing coming from one of the rooms i'm in between that's been driving me nuts for days. i don't know what it is, where it's coming from, or how i can stop it. However, all the new music i've recently acquired has helped me through this. and then i try and get myself out of my residence room for a good amount of time, that works too. Hehe) wanted cheesecake, we trekked back to Angel, walked fooorever (I'm lazy) down Upper Street t...

jessica's abroad blog: Swedish Plants and Animals
http://jessicabroadblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/swedish-plants-and-animals.html
Thursday, April 9, 2009. Swedish Plants and Animals. On Tuesday, (March 31) , Vanessa, Isak, Jamie, and I went to the Varmlands Nature Centre and Animal. something. It was kind of a groggy day as all of the past days were, but it was still a lot of fun. Isak brought his dog and together the five of us walked through the abandoned park and had lunch in the nature centre. That night, we just hung out again, watched more of the Big Bang Theory. I had to leave in the moring, so we were pretty sad.
