Life in the Byrd House. My quest to give up a career to be a stay-at-home Mommy! Wednesday, February 9, 2011. I haven't blogged in about a week, so I figured that I'd better get back on my bandwaggon so I don't lose momentum. I weighed in this week at 185.5 lbs - a total loss of 3.5 lbs from the previous weigh-in. The weather here has been really dreary and cold for the past week. There must be some weight loss by weigh-in next week! On a brighter note, my size 16 jeans and pants are falling off me now!

I know when you sit down and when you rise up. (Psalm 139:2). I am familiar with all your ways. (Psalm 139:3). Even the very hairs on your head are numbered. (Matthew 10:29-31). For you were made in my image. (Genesis 1:27). In me you live and move and have your being. (Acts 17:28). For I am your provider and ...

Life in the Byrd House. My quest to give up a career to be a stay-at-home Mommy! Thursday, January 3, 2013. Since it's been a year since my Daddy earned his angel wings, I thought it was fitting to re-post the eulogy I wrote and gave at his graveside service. I hope you see what a wonderful man, father, husband and grandfather he was! Every time they would talk (before we said our goodbyes) they would say, “I love you! No, I love you more! NO, I love you most! 8221; I will never forget those words. 4 If ...

I have this HUGE hole in my heart that I don't think will ever be filled! I have been protecting myself from pain pretty well for the past year, but at some point it ...

Life in the Byrd House. My quest to give up a career to be a stay-at-home Mommy! Thursday, March 31, 2011. Oh Carolina - How I have missed you.. I haven't been back to the wonder state of SC since we were here in December. We finally made it to Charleston. I honestly did not think we would make it on the plane this morning. Mel and I were 2 of the last 3 people on the plane. Whew! That could have been disasterous, but we were both determined to be on that plane (come hell or highwater)! My muscles have ...
