Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Chickens in the City. Image courtesy of morguefile.com. If a small backyard flock of hens providing fresh, healthy eggs, meat and pest control, plus the sheer fun of watching and hearing chickens do their thing makes you think happy, why not do it? Just because you live in town doesn't mean you wouldn't like to have a chicken or two around the place! You should be able to find out if your area allows chickens by going to their web site or contacting the city offices. Keeping chic...

Country Living in a City Home: July 2014

That's not me and that's probably not you. One crop or another fails now and then and we have to say, "Well, the tomatoes did well, anyway! Which way will it be? It's time to make the decisions and full speed ahead! Where to put the she...

Next step: gravel | Spud Hill Farm

Peace of mind and elbow room. This and that →. August 4, 2015. We got Ben for a couple weeks, so naturally we came up with some dirty work to keep him busy. He started out by helping Geoff clean up the thenches, scooping out loose dirt and smoothing the bottom. Then they started adding gravel – spread, soak, compact, repeat. The goal is to have a hard, level surface to build concrete forms on. It’s hot work, but at least you get your feet wet! Great job, guys! This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Maximilian's Adventures: February 2013

The main reason we picked this location is because we know fellow Heartlanders Nancy and Ted Hanson; they are parked one row over and eight rigs down. We have been ...
