Time:Out: Kicking and Screaming!

http://ryanandkatieann.blogspot.com/2015/04/kicking-and-screaming.html

Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Can you believe it, I am still alive. The in-laws didn't even dis-own me over the last post, I don’t even think they saw it, so I guess we know who my avid followers are. Who can blame them, they get to hear me talking to myself all the time anyway, why should they read it to themselves? I am sure the live version is much more entertaining! I don’t think I feel that way. I guess all the more proof to give the credit to God for their survival… and mine. We have had a few visitors...

Time:Out: December 2014

http://ryanandkatieann.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 16, 2014. As you know, we have been plugging away on our new, well new to us, house. With the help of the local crew under Ryan and Duane's management. Last Wednesday we embarked on a quick 6 hour trip to the Capital city of Guatemala (Guatemala City) for supplies and renewal of our tourist visits. We were able to spend a few nights at a safe hotel in the city where the kids were able to swim, and we were once again able to grab a few doughnuts! I am sure Christmas is in full swing at h...

Time:Out: When is it OK to fail?

http://ryanandkatieann.blogspot.com/2015/04/when-is-it-ok-to-fail.html

Sunday, April 26, 2015. When is it OK to fail? I am glad that is over. I waited and waited for an instant yesterday, when my life, as I know it, would change. I am now 29. I am glad to have survived yet another year, and hope that I have leaned something in the process. We have not unloaded any of the supplies yet, but I think we will begin the tedious process of unpacking and organizing all the contents so we can find it when we need it tomorrow. oh you know what? I think I am 'busy'. Bummer! I hope so, ...

Time:Out: Who needs a sloppy pet kiss?

http://ryanandkatieann.blogspot.com/2015/02/who-needs-sloppy-pet-kiss.html

Friday, February 27, 2015. Who needs a sloppy pet kiss? Why do I always wait so long to make a blog update? I end up looking back at the pictures I have taken on my camera, and as I try to put them together into a sensible order that I can narrate, I realize my life, as I know it, well, as I've always known it, is nothing short of a crayon box filled with chalk, scissors and glue. It has been amazing to see all the supplies roll into a shipping container, that as of the 10th of march will begin its voyag...

Time:Out: May 2015

http://ryanandkatieann.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 10, 2015. The Calm After the Storm. It never ceases to amaze me, the resilience that we have as humans against the most debilitating circumstances, only to be completely leveled by a few words carried on a harsh tone, or an un-ideal scenario in the midst of a bad day. Yes, we are still manually loading the rock crusher. We are continuing to forge ahead on all fronts. The chaos surrounding our home has been steady, and often it seems as though it is invading our living room. I am afraid that.

Allison Wonderland: August 2014

http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 5, 2014. A quick update on the hospital project in Guatemala! Adonai received the money needed to transport the container to Guatemala. (See previous post here. Which is so awesome! While the container was being packed in the States, much activity was taking place in Guatemala. Although the land was pretty level, it still needed some fill dirt to get it completely ready. They have moved over 100 loads of dirt from the river. It is almost ready to grade. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Allison Wonderland: Finding Our Rhythm

http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2015/03/finding-our-rhythm.html

Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Some sort of routine seems to help our family function a little bit better. Doesn't really matter where we live. Our drive through Mexico and then our first week here were anything but routine for us. Our next week was a great week with the Lifegate team, but again, no 'routine' that week. We drove the Suburban up to a place to park and then followed the trail to the beginning of the canal. This is the 3rd time that we have gone on this hike in all of the times that we have...

Allison Wonderland: So Amazing!

http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2015/03/so-amazing.html

Sunday, March 29, 2015. A bunch of us walked over to the hospital property yesterday to watch the concrete pour that was going on. The footings are completely done so this pour was the 2nd to last one for the stem walls. They are planning the last pour for some time next week! Those of us that were gawking at the process taking place decided that it was very similar to making a cake! Here are a few pictures of the process! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Allison Wonderland: October 2014

http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 27, 2014. House for Sale . . soon! As you all have figured out by now, we are moving! We are still working on getting our house ready for sale. This is such a walk of faith - it feels like we are running out of time! We have always thought that we would be hiring a realtor and doing it the 'normal' way. However, we had engaged one realtor who was not very excited about listing our home. Weird, right? Wouldn't be the first time! Here is a picture of our neighborhood from the back of our lo...

Allison Wonderland: Prayer Room!

http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2015/04/prayer-room.html

Monday, April 13, 2015. Adonai (with the help of many! Filled a container with plumbing and other hospital construction supplies and shipped it down to Guatemala in early March. Everything was all going great - in fact, the container arrived at port earlier than expected! Anyway, this is typical Guatemala! And the Lord used these 'complications' to put His focus and His plan in front of us! Aka - the prayer room! Kyla took these awesome photos on the hospital property this morning! Getting the dirt ready.

Allison Wonderland: Happy Easter!

http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2015/04/happy-easter.html

Sunday, April 5, 2015. While we were still weak, at the right time. Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—. God shows his love for us in that. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore,. We have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from. The wrath of God. While we were enemies. Reconciliation." - Romans 5:6-11. Happy Easter to all! 15555 West Dodge Road.

Allison Wonderland: Arrival of the Container

http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2015/04/arrival-of-container.html

Monday, April 27, 2015. Arrival of the Container. This last Friday, we got up early to receive the second container for the hospital. With delays at the port, followed by more delays at the port, we should not have been surprised that it was not there when we arrived. Due to the length of the containers themselves and the condition of the roads, they are being housed two hours away from us in Quiche. Now the real work began. Watch the edge Ryan! http://allisonfamilyinguat.blogspot.com/2015/08/malnutrition-issue-in-guatemala.html

Thursday, August 6, 2015. Malnutrition Issue in Guatemala. As part of his degree requirements, Caleb is currently taking a "Crisis Intervention" course through Liberty University. A large part of his grade includes a research paper as well as a public service announcement focused on a crisis. He choose to do both around the malnutrition issues that we see here in Guatemala. His video was posted on facebook but in case you missed it, there is a link here. You all are a blessing to us! 15555 West Dodge Road.

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. House Update: Playroom and Crib. It only took us 5 months but Haven's crib finally went up! She sleeps in it for at least a few hours at night. The shelves with the dollhouse got moved to the guest room so that still continues to be a fav spot for Liv to play since the dollhouse is her current favorite pastime. I still need to hang some things on the wall above her crib but for now this is what it looks like. Not a huge change. Posted by Ryan and Katie. Tuesday, August 11, 2015.

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Kiptyn is already 2 months old! I can’t believe how much faster time flies with two kiddos keeping us busy. At 5 weeks old, Kiptyn went up to 5 ounce bottles, and we took away the 10:30 pm feeding to start a new schedule. Today was my first ever successful cast and blast. That's when you have a successful fishing and hunting trip in the same spot on the same day. This spot is just minutes from our house so I was home in time to make a fancy duck dinner. Here's some pics. We celebrated Christmas morning a couple days early with a mountain of presents. We sat around in our pajamas nearly all day slowly making our way through the pile. That afternoon we made fresh tamales. Decked with Bells of Holly. Brrrrrrrr. . . Yesterday...

The Nelsons: Ryan~Katie~Shelby~Liam

The Nelsons: Ryan Katie Shelby Liam. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Lilo at 9 months. My little baby is gone. And while I haven't been able to swaddle him for a while now, I still can't believe how fast the time is passing. I feel a little cheated. In just a few months he'll be a year old and toddlerhood will be just around the corner. Here's some fun milestones:. He went from having one tooth to having four in one month! Two top and two bottom. And I can already feel more on top. He learned how to clap!
