Friday, February 28, 2014. Some heavy snow showers, and poor visibility at higher levels. Posted by SAIS Lochaber team. Thursday, February 27, 2014. It was quite windy with some heavy snow showers through the day. With all this snow cover there few boulders about for wildlife to hide from passing avalanche forecasters. SAIS Creag Meagaidh: January 2013
http://saismeagaidh.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 26, 2013. Above) Avalanche debris in a gully NE of Bellevue Buttress. Usual mod/soft slab debris but with several much bigger and harder blocks. Cornice triggered event but speculated that the avalanche had stepped down onto deeper slab (the cornice that collapsed would have been soft and new). Today's pit was midway up and to the side of the avalanche track and protected by rocky bosses. Above) The Post Face today. Friday, January 25, 2013. Thursday, January 24, 2013. Above) The Post F...

Wednesday, 28 January 2009. Got the paperwork out of the way early so that we could go and recce coasteering locations in preparation for the coming season. After months spent poring over maps looking for suitable locations in the gloomy winter light today the sun shone bright turning our thoughts to summer, so we ditched the office and headed to the coast. Its an awesome location with something for everyone: wide open trails; single track with switchbacks, berms and whoops to a pretty serious downhill section for the brave/stupid! http://fourpointsadventure.blogspot.com/2009/02/went-skiing-on-dartmooor-on-sunday.html
Monday, 9 February 2009. We Love Big Dumps! Went skiing on Dartmooor on Sunday.Awesome; there was so much snow that it could have been on top of Brieriach in the Cairngorms! We hiked in through knee deep drifts to the top of one of the tors then picked a line back down through the rocks for about a kilometre. We're now closely watching the forecast as its due to snow again and if it does we'll be there! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe to our blog. If You Go Down To the Woods Today.
