It all started in 1986 from a little house in Rosenberg. Sandy began serving her legendary Ann's Plate with creamy chicken salad, fruit salad, and soon-to-be-famous broccoli cheese soup to a few local residents. Word about Sandy's emphasis on freshness and presentation spread. Crowds of customers in the little house resulted in Sandy McGee's relocating to a larger facility. The restaurant is located on the corner of 4th and Morton Streets in downtown Richmond, Texas. It is about 30 miles west of downtown Houston and 3 miles north of the Southwest Frwy (U.S. 59). Take the Southwest Freeway (U.S. 59) north, exit at Hwy 762. Turn left at the traffic light and proceed north on Hwy 762 approximately 4 miles. Cross U.S. 90-A and proceed one more block to Morton Street. Turn right (east) and proceed several blocks to 4th Street.

Thursday, July 29, 2010. The Sacred G'Raj Mahal. So, yesterday I went out to dinner with my friends Mary and Drew. We had all heard about this place called G'Raj Mahal (pronounced garage), and we were all eager to try it. Let me just say: this place is pretty magical, especially if you love Indian food! Also they share the space with the Austin Bike Zoo. They have on display a giant rattlesnake made out of bikes and recycled bottles and other things they have found, and apparently you can rent them.
