Never Stop Learning

Wednesday, January 05, 2011. Big, complex, demanding, and competative. This was the title of the keynote address at the ALISE 2011 conference by Jorge Reina Schement of Rutgers. He made the point that within the current economic and social culture, academic departments within IHEs must educate both internal and external constituents regarding their value. A means of accomplishing this that he did not mention is scholarly communication. Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Tuesday afternoon at TCDL.focus on ETDs.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Teaching and learning online. It was a great conversation that both of us left feeling good about. Never Stop Learning: More from TCDL

http://sarahsneverstop.blogspot.com/2010/05/more-from-tcdl.html

Monday, May 17, 2010. This afternoon's sessions brought us up to date with the work that's going on at TDL. It's really pretty amazing. TDL Labs is a test bed for that collaboration. Among their ideas are research conducted by students and a collaborative matchmaking database where projects for which specific skills are needed would be matched with scholars at TDL institutions who possess those skills. They’re going to put Verio into open source production on 1 September 2010. Both MIT and the ...One of ...

CCSuttons: Winter work

http://ccsuttons.blogspot.com/2015/02/winter-work.html

Saturday, February 28, 2015. Tommy and I both finished winter projects this week. Tommy built a headboard for our new bed and I made a quilt for it. Both big projects because it's a king-sized bed. Here's the bureau that the headboard is patterned on:. And some of the quilting (which, as usual, I did on my home sewing machine):. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. CCSuttons: More garden delights!

http://ccsuttons.blogspot.com/2015/08/more-garden-delights.html

Sunday, August 16, 2015. Here's what we picked yesterday. This ones for mom and dad, the ficus tree we brought home from their house in June. The "new" garden, that's cucumbers, some herbs, lettuce, and spinach. I have no idea whether they'll grow to harvest, but it's better than an empty bed! And Tommy's new friend, "junior," who will come right over and climb up his leg! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Sarah's professional web site.

CCSuttons: Fourth of July weekend in the garden

http://ccsuttons.blogspot.com/2015/07/fourth-of-july-weekend-in-garden.html

Friday, July 03, 2015. Fourth of July weekend in the garden. I planted some new lettuce. The corn is coming along nicely. It's almost tomato time! Tommy's crepe myrtle has almost doubled in size since we planted it. And we find a visitor in the iris garden when we were cleaning it up. Isaac chased him around the backyard but luckily for everyone Tommy got the bunny out of the backyard before any harm was done. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Sunday, June 21, 2015. Baby birds and first garden harvests. While I was in Overland Park, KS (near KC) Tommy saw this baby bluejay on our front porch. He hung around for quite a while so Tommy war out to take this picture. Just after he took it the mom (or dad) bluejay flew down and pecked Tommy on the top of the head! Both mom and dad were nearby the whole time and making quite a racket. Also this weekend we picked a big basket full of green beans, a few baby beets (because I just can't wait any longer!

Sarah's New Back

Sarah’s New Back. About Sarah and the Surgery. June 26, 2008. Today was a great day. Levi seems to be back to his old self. Silly and sweet. Spunky and screamy. Although Jere and I hardly cross paths this week, it’s amazing the JOY I have to still feel so connected to him. I’m so thankful for our time in France to rebuild us. Jere’s office is now in our closet which is quite cozy (and hot today). Posted in General Updates. June 25, 2008. 2 so do diapers in the heat. 3 friends moving in this week. Well-I ...

I heard or read about this somewhere…. Israel & Iran. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could actually use those 2 country’s names synonomously as countries that only wish to promote peace and cooperate with one another. That was 7 years ago, I wonder how much “enrichment” they’ve been able to improve upon since 2002. Is Iran lying and can sanctions change their nuclear proliferation course? And does Israel have the right to defend itself, even premptively? Ironically, this month marks the 47th anniversary of t...
