Lunch Bites – ScienceBites

Raquo; Lunch Bites. Lunch Bites offers bite-sized science fun at lunchtime for students in Yrs 3 and 4. Each session will begin with a discussion on a scientific topic while the students eat their lunch. Then it’s into the lab (aka the Art Room) where the real fun begins. It might sound like child’s play, but this non-Newtonian fluid has some amazing properties.

Investigate the small stuff with a look at atoms, molecules, compounds and mixtures. How do planes stay in the air? Learn about the principles of aerodynamics and flight to create the ultimate paper plane. What is a scab? Blood, ooze and the body’s defences. The good, the bad and the smelly. What is the speed of light? How high can it go?

Holiday workshops offer a great opportunity for hours of science and robotics fun during the school holidays. The workshops are held at Wembley Downs Primary School and St.Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School during the school holidays and various weekends throughout the year. The cost is $30 per session.
