This is the blog of a girl who one day decided to learn to sew. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Sailor Moon Bodice: DONE! What I was aiming for). How I made it:. I cut out four layers. There is one layer of cotton sateen, a layer of lining, a layer of interfacing, and a layer of lace. Then, I used a metallic needle and thread and made scallop stitches. I cut as close as I could to the stitching line. I made the bow out of two layers of sateen and heat n bond heavy interfacing, plus a little fabric for the knot.

Yesterday I finished sewing the lining to the main fabric and I had some fitting issues. I felt in some areas, it was too big. Mainly the bust. I was not supportive, even with the boning in. Because March 1st, I found out I was pregnant. It was completely unplanned. So to say I was shocked is an understatement. However, I am excited about having a baby. I am due on Halloween. That's because I had my baby boy on October 17th, 2014, then bought a house with my boyfriend and moved at the end of January. Now that Oliver isn't a newborn anymore and sleeps 12 hours a night without eating, I can do more. I'm still unpacking but I have my sewing machine and supplies out. Thursday, 30 April 2015. Look I finished a thing! At the start of the year I decided to do a sketch a day for a year. It didn't last very long as I quickly accepted that. Grab a snack and be prepared to read about the making of my 18th century pocket hoops. I used Simplicity 4092. First, I cut out the pattern pieces and then marked them. Then I sewed twill tape the width of the pocket hoops and inserted boning, which I also cut the same width, minus 1-1/4″. There’s three boning channels per pannier. I made a tote.
