Little Red Henry Trifecta. April 28, 2015. Is another wonderful book from Linda Urban. One of the things that I love so much about Little Red Henry. I would highly recommend that all teachers and parents that need to learn this lesson from Little Red Henry check out this blog post from Kristi Mraz. I hope that you’ll check out Linda Urban’s Little Red Henry. It’s a super fun book with a few lessons sprinkled in that the kids in our life would probably appreciate that we learned. Elementary Reflections: 2015-Looking Forward
http://elementaryreflections.blogspot.com/2015/01/2015-looking-forward.html
Reflections from a Middle Grade Literacy Coach. Thursday, January 1, 2015. I was going to look back at my goals for 2014 to see how I fared, but realized if I have to look back at them to refresh my memory on what they were, I probably didn't fare as well as I would have liked. So rather than looking back, I'm going to look forward. The only reflection I am going to have is that I know I need to do better. Health is always a big thing with me. I did better about getting to the gym last year, despite ...

Reflections from a Middle Grade Literacy Coach. Monday, August 18, 2014. First Day of School. The first day of school. Hard to sleep the night before. I'm awake every few hours. Too many thoughts running through my head:. Do I have everything ready? Are extra materials handy for any possible new students? Is there anything that needs to be copied? Do I have enough planned for the day? What if I oversleep? Go home, get ready for school, kiss my son goodbye. He doesn't start school for another week. Librar...

Saturday, August 15, 2015. Wearing my hope and struggle on my sleeve. I've had a tattoo for over ten years now. It's on my lower back and hidden from sight. I had no intention of ever getting a tattoo that was regularly visible to the world. But as the years have gone on, I have entertained the thought of getting another, more visible tattoo. Something small, dainty, and literary. Something to show the world that I am a reader and a teacher. For a while I considered getting the line:. In a grad school cl...
