Welcome to Sheila Pendrick's Homepage. Spondon was already established as an agricultural village at the time of the Domesday Book and still retains its village atmosphere. Lying to the north-east of Derby, it became part of the Borough in 1968, and is now a suburb of the City of Derby. There is now a fascinating history trail with leaflet to accompany it created by the Spondon Historical Society. The 20 places of particular interest are all clearly marked with plaques.
