Me and My Life: March 2015
http://exmoorali.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 4 March 2015. A milestone is reached today in the wonderful world of WOYWW. How could I not join in? Go on over to Julia's Stamping Ground. For more details and a long list of fellow-'deskers'. Not much crafting going on in my craft room today, so I have some of my latest stash acquisitions (ie internet shopping) on display. I have been saying for a while that I must dust down my sewing machine, and when the latest Cross Patch. Show came on Create and Craft. Links to this post. 45 year old Dai...

Sarah's Pincushions - Nicola Foreman Quilts
http://www.nicolaforemanquilts.com/blog/sarahs-pincushions
I'd been clearing out a box of patterns, and I came across this one - I had made several of these pincushions a few years ago, and (before I had a blog! And decided it was about time I made a few more! This is a pattern by Leanne Beasley, called Sarah's Pincushions. S craps of Lecien fabrics, an assortment of Cosmo embroidery threads, a very fine micron pigma pen and a lightbox. Yes I was ready for a couple of hours of peaceful stitching! These pincushions are just gorgeous! I have one of these finished ...

Walnut Tree Cottage Sewing Case. A couple of years ago I bought this sewing case from. Stall at the Festival Of Quilts. I'd already been given Lynette's book "Country Cottage Quilting" which had a pattern for a cover for the sewing case called "Walnut Tree Cottage", so I gathered together some scraps of Lynette's beautiful fabrics and getting ready for another project. And here's the finished case. It really would have been much easier to stitch the applique with a curved needle, but I'd had a bit of...

A Little Bit Of Retail Therapy - Nicola Foreman Quilts
http://www.nicolaforemanquilts.com/blog/a-little-bit-of-retail-therapy
A Little Bit Of Retail Therapy. Well I've just about recovered from a very hectic day at Festival Of Quilts! I went along on Sunday, on a coach trip organised by a local quilt shop and it was great to meet up with some friends that I hadn't seen for absolutely ages! I had a good old natter on the coach with my friend Julie. And we seemed to arrive at the NEC in no time at all! I had got a very short wish list this year, and managed to get everything on my list AND I stayed under budget too! These are the...

Sewing Accessory Case - Part 1 - Nicola Foreman Quilts
http://www.nicolaforemanquilts.com/blog/sewing-accessory-case-part-1
Sewing Accessory Case - Part 1. A few weeks ago I ordered this kit from Patchwork Chicks. It's called "Sewing Accessory Case" and is designed by Lynette Anderson Designs. The kit includes all these beautiful fabrics and embellishments needed to make this really useful sewing case. This sewing project started in the kitchen, coffee staining some tape-measure tape. I was so impatient to start stitching that I gave it a quick blast with the hairdryer. This kit has absolutely everything you need to make this...

Sewing Accessory Case - Part 2 - Nicola Foreman Quilts
http://www.nicolaforemanquilts.com/blog/sewing-accessory-case-part-2
Sewing Accessory Case - Part 2. T he sewing board still needs to be covered with fabric and sandpaper, but that will be on my list of jobs for next weekend! Ave you tried Clover Wonder Clips? They are absolutely brilliant! There's nothing worse than trying to stick pins into thick layers, and plastic. These little darlings make life so much easier, and you don't get stabbed with those pesky pins either. This has to be the TRICKIEST zipper I've ever sewn! His cute scissor charm has been in my jewellery bo...
