Monday, April 2, 2012. Trial By Fire : How I Learned to Solder. This week's blog is a part of Etsy Metal's Blog Carnival. The topic? Nobody's Perfect" - a statement that certainly applies to me, despite my most fervent wishes to the contrary! I don't think so. And I was able to salvage every broken solder join. It's still one of my favourite pieces of jewellery, and I wear it to remind myself to honour my mistakes. Practice does indeed make perfect, or at least, brings you closer to perfection than y...

Bell, Book and Candle: What the heck are you doing?
http://gracebourne.blogspot.com/2012/07/what-heck-are-you-doing.html
Monday, July 2, 2012. What the heck are you doing? I've been spending a little less time at the metalsmithing bench lately. I had a great idea for a project - still jewellery, still opulent in the typical "Gracebourne" style - but made out of something softer, something more pliable and delightfully tactile - leather! Everything starts with a sketch. Now, everything begins with a sketch in the notebook and a clear idea of where I want to go and how to get there. Hard to believe this came from my sketch!

Creative Inclinations: April 2012
http://creativeinclinations.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Inspiration from an Old Sketchbook. Recently I pulled out this sketchbook hoping for some inspiration for a new piece of jewelry. I found a drawing of a floral decoration from the Accademia Museum in Venice. I didn't note what it was, but I think it was probably a decorative element on an altarpiece frame. Here's the sketchbook page, and the flower I wanted to use is in the lower left. And here are the resulting pieces of jewelry:. Matching earrings with pale pink pearls. Team ...

Creative Inclinations: October 2012
http://creativeinclinations.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 1, 2012. Etsy Metal Blog Carnival: Back to School. The topic for this month's Etsy Metal Blog Carnival is "Back to School" (you and/or your children). The only downside to this school is the commute; it's about thirty minutes in traffic, but it's in the direction of my other job. We have to leave pretty early, which has been kind of a challenge for my husband and me, but not for our early-bird daughter. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Http:/ markasky.blogspot.com. This month's Etsy Metal Blog Carnival topic is to show what you have in your own personal jewelry box along with the stories behind your pieces or what your jewelry means to you. First, I have to say that I have way too many things to write about! See what my Etsy Metal teammates had to say about this subject:. Laney Clark - silentgoddess. Http:/ silentgoddess.blogspot.com. Made of metal, soft, warm, organic forms. Sunday, March 4, 2012. Etsy Metal Blog Carnival. Etsy Metal Blog Carnival. What are the Pros and Cons of selling your jewelry online? The pros are that I can stay at home. I can work all day, I don't have to carry tons of stuff to some show and hope people will show up there and hope that they will be buying. There is so much social media to promote online selling. Of course, most of this also applies to selling my jewelry any where else too. Join our mailing list.

Just a quick one to show you a new pair of earrings I have made, I love them! A new website.again. I decided to get rid of my Big Cartel website as I realised with my Moonfruit account (my cake topper website is with them) I can make up to 5 websites! I already pay a yearly fee for this so why am I paying again monthly for a Big Cartel site, doh. So I have been busy working on this new website which is at www.peculiarforest.com. And here is a screen shot of the homepage. At let me know what you think :).
