Thursday, February 7, 2013. As I am a lover of tankers, I decided to purchase a couple of SDS tankers at the Armidale Convention from Gwyder Valley Models. They are a very nice model indeed, well detailed and a fair price. The only down fall to them I believe is that they are too light and clean! Now to the weathering. I referred to photos of a tanker in the 80's, as that's the era I model. Firstly, I airbrushed on some grimey black. Next was to dry brush some rust around the tank straps and bogie springs.

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. So I have purchased one of those static grass applicators from eBay. The area near the coal stage. Around Boggabilla station and platform. The yellow and red clumps are flowers/weeds from Noch. They are pre made all you need to do is glue them down. The other side of the station. The longer grass clumps are also from Noch. An overall view. I think I might do it again with a dryer and longer grass to immitae spinifex grass with a green undergrowth.. Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

Monday, January 2, 2012. Pitty the holidays are over? Another productive morning produced a cattle ramp. The model was constructed with styrene, balsa and the black components are code 70 rail. The loading ramp will be placed in the grain loop between. It will only be for very small loadings. The only problem is that I need to get some BCW's. Perhaps a order to Ron might be on the cards? Tuesday, May 21, 2013. A standard piece of alfoil. Drop a few dabs of glue here and there to make your random bases for the tufts. You need an metal base to conduct the electricity! Next, coat the sucker with static grass. I used a mixture of 4.5 and 6 mm long dry grass. Using the 4.5 seems to fill out the centre a bit better and give it a full and inconsistent height in the grass.
