Spean Bridge Golf Club. Spean Bridge Golf Club. The first golf course in Spean Bridge was opened in around 1897, at Blarour. Traces of it can still be seen from the present course, looking across the glen to the hillside above the A82. These Victorians must have been very fit to play on such a steep course, especially in such heavy clothing, but presumably their downhill drives would have been satisfyingly long. Bill Chalmers looked after the fairways with an old tractor pulling some unwieldy mowers.

Spean Bridge Golf Club. Spean Bridge Golf Club. Friday 9th September 2016. The minimum qualifying age is 55 and the max handicap is 28. There will be two age groups: 55 64, and 65 and over. The entry fee is 10. Two time blocks for tee-time: 8.24 10.00 and 12.24 2.00. The Overall Winner will receive the Langan and Smith Shield, and in both the 55 64 group and the 65 and over group, there will be voucher prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and other prizes.
