Risk – My Crackling Heart
https://mycracklingheart.wordpress.com/2016/02/15/risk
February 15, 2016. February 15, 2016. This week, I learned something in my business finance class that I really needed to learn. As a class we are currently studying financial risk and return. This week I practiced calculating annualized and expected return, total risk and standard deviation. I learned about market and firm-specific risk, diversification, correlation, beta, SML, CAPM, and a bunch of other things that will probably put you to sleep just reading about…. How neat is that? Life is full of ri...

Friends – My Crackling Heart
https://mycracklingheart.wordpress.com/2016/02/07/friends
February 7, 2016. February 8, 2016. Did anyone know that “Friend Day” existed until this past week? I had never even heard of it until I saw all of the posts on Facebook, but now I am definitely a fan! It was so fun to watch my friend’s videos and see how happy everyone looked. I love that friends can make us so happy and make life so much more enjoyable! I know that Heavenly Father has placed specific people in my life for a reason, and I am thankful that He knows just who I need and when I need them!

January 2016 – My Crackling Heart
https://mycracklingheart.wordpress.com/2016/01
Lead Me, Guide Me. January 25, 2016. My heart is definitely crackling today. It has been an amazing week, and it was really hard for me to decide what to write about! I realized, though, that the things I’m most grateful for right now are all a result of the way that God has guided and directed my life and the lives of the people around me. We speak to Him through prayer, and He speaks to us through the Holy Ghost, in our thoughts and the feelings of our hearts ( D&C 8:2. We drove to her house and knocke...

The Beginning – My Crackling Heart
https://mycracklingheart.wordpress.com/2016/01/11/the-beginning
January 11, 2016. It’s the start of a new year, and I have decided to start a blog. When I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I would write home to my family and friends once each week. I absolutely loved writing those weekly emails! It was a time to reflect back on the events of the past days, and it was a wonderful way for me to be able to recognize the many ways that God had blessed me. I love those words. There have been so many times throughout my life wh...

My Lifeguard. – My Crackling Heart
https://mycracklingheart.wordpress.com/2016/01/18/my-lifeguard/comment-page-1
January 18, 2016. Have you have ever felt like you were drowning? Whether literally or figuratively, drowning is not a pleasant experience. I worked as a lifeguard when I was in High School, and it took many hours of swimming and learning about water safety to qualify for that job. Swimming had always been pretty easy for me. I had never really experienced what it was like to be drowning in water, until I got into some higher level courses that really challenged me! He even walks on water! I was reminded...

March 2016 – My Crackling Heart
https://mycracklingheart.wordpress.com/2016/03
March 7, 2016. March 7, 2016. Tonight I went with my best friend Bekah to visit our friend Cami, who just got home from her mission! We became good friends with Cami during our first semester at BYU. Right before I left on my mission, Cami decided to serve a mission also, and she was called to serve in the Canada Calgary Mission! Bekah and I were so excited! A few months into her mission, Cami was assigned to serve in our hometown! As I sat in Cami’s kitchen, surrounded by people- some that I knew,...

My Mom – My Crackling Heart
https://mycracklingheart.wordpress.com/2016/02/01/my-mom
February 1, 2016. February 1, 2016. I have decided to dedicate this week’s post to my amazing Mom. I’m always thankful for her and all of the things she has taught me, but this week, my heart is especially full of gratitude. My Mom called me one day this week, and it was the most perfectly timed phone call I think I’ve ever had. I had been feeling so stressed about school and about the future (so, nothing new haha) but it was just all piling up, and I was pretty overwhelmed! My Mom is amazing! Fill in yo...
