My project is to study the mechanics of bacterial cells during cell division. I am jointly supervised by Prof Simon Foster, MBB. I studied semicrystalline polymers by scanning probe microscopy with the aim to better understand the nucleation and growth process, the packing structure, and to determine the role played by branchings, fillers and defects.
