Simon Hendy Photography - About Me
http://shendy.co.uk/about.php
Professionally, I am a computer software designer and developer while photography has been my main hobby since the 1980s, although I only became serious about it when I did a series of City and Guilds courses at the Watershed in Bristol in the early 2000s. I started off in the digital world with a Nikon D200 that served me well for 7 years, while I now use a Nikon D600 with Nikon 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8 and 50mm f/1.4 lenses. For snaps, I use a Panasonic FX-37 compact. Home Return to the home page.

On The Banking: January 2010
http://onthebanking.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
The world of cycling viewed from an angle of 42 degrees. Saturday, 2 January 2010. Living in the past. The stake in your shorts is medium-rare! This months Cycle Sport Mag highlights what the Italians have in their musettes. Of course as part of the Cycling Weekly stable articles on food are no surprise, I firmly believe that the nations favourite weekly cycling magazine is positioning itself for a tilt at the slimming market, but I digress. Well OK, maybe things aren't as bad as they used to be, I used ...

On The Banking: I don't care who's it is, it's floating.
http://onthebanking.blogspot.com/2009/11/i-dont-care-whos-it-is-its-floating.html
The world of cycling viewed from an angle of 42 degrees. Friday, 27 November 2009. I don't care who's it is, it's floating. Who's got clean balls? And in Spain another doping ring has been uncovered, this one's called Operation Grial. What the fuck do they want a new anti doping operation for? They haven't finished the first one yet, greedy bastards. Just think how much better the world would be if all the fuckers that doped over the last decade were banned to 20 years. Once a floater, always a floater.

On The Banking: March 2009
http://onthebanking.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
The world of cycling viewed from an angle of 42 degrees. Wednesday, 25 March 2009. They came, they saw, they rode around in circles. A Brit wins Milan - SanRemo, so lets see just what Europe's press might have made of the event. A new champion is born', 'Glorious Cavendish' , 'A king is born' trumpeted the broadsheets in Belgium and Holland. And talking of wall to wall coverage, let's talk Lance and his little accident. So am I alone in thinking good news for Levi? He is going like the proverbial train r...

On The Banking: April 2009
http://onthebanking.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
The world of cycling viewed from an angle of 42 degrees. Wednesday, 29 April 2009. Schumacher and the Chocolate tea pot. In an announcement that shocked no one, well almost no one, it has been revealed that Mr Schumacher has been found to be cycling's 2nd result from the 08 Olympics. Was it just me, or did anyone else thing 'yeah right.' when Rebellin won at Fleche? There's a lot of outrage going on, a whole lot of outrage shock and disbelief, er . Oh, there is one small thing that's worth pointing out h...

On The Banking: Oh you little ray of sunshine
http://onthebanking.blogspot.com/2009/11/oh-you-little-ray-of-sunshine.html
The world of cycling viewed from an angle of 42 degrees. Wednesday, 4 November 2009. Oh you little ray of sunshine. Back on that track, right? Amongst the many and obvious highlights of this last weekends World Cup at Manchester were the return to the boards of a couple of 'old faces'. Both had suffered illness and injury and whilst lesser riders would have thrown in the towel they continued riding and hopefully both have come through their dark night. And man did they come back in style? Andy rode to th...

On The Banking: Mistakes? I've made a few.
http://onthebanking.blogspot.com/2009/10/mistakes-ive-made-few.html
The world of cycling viewed from an angle of 42 degrees. Thursday, 1 October 2009. I've made a few. 21 Months, why it seem like only yesterday. We all make mistakes, we are after all human. So imagine my surprise when Thomas 'Double' Dekker Admits after his B sample is positive that he ' regrets his mistake' and 'will apologise and be held accountable, where possible.'. How, just how is sticking a needle up your arse a mistake? Oh and this 'where possible' what the fuck does that mean? Two up, Two down.
