St Mary the Virgin, Maulden. Our Church Hall is available to rent for Retreats and Quiet days, meetings, classes, clubs, celebrations, funeral teas and other events. There is seating for up to 70 people in the main room. A smaller committee room, downstairs, seats about 20 people. The hall has disabled access and toilet facilities and there is a well equipped kitchen with a cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. To download the hire rates for the Hall applicable from 1st January 2015.

St Mary the Virgin, Maulden. St Mary's Youth Group. St Mary's youth group is a new group set up for young people aged 11yrs and over, who would like to explore our Christian Faith and make new friends. We meet once a month usually on a Saturday, between 6.30pm and 8pm, at the Church Hall in Maulden. Cost is £1 per evening. Our next meeting will be held on Saturday 20th February, where we will be playing board games. Our meeting in March is on the 28. And will be the Easter Monday. Or Lynda 01525 403139.
Mausoleum - St Mary the Virgin, Maulden

St Mary the Virgin, Maulden. In the churchyard at St. Mary's stands an impressive 17th century octagonal mausoleum and crypt known as the Ailesbury Mausoleum. The original Ailesbury Mausoleum was built in 1656 by Thomas, Earl of Elgin, in memory of his second wife Diana, daughter of the Earl of Stamford. However, the crypt had been used for burials prior to that date and may have been used as a meeting place for worship before the reformation. Steps down into the crypt. The Mausoleum and Crypt today.

Maulden History Society together with Maulden Players, put on an Old Tyme Music Hall in September to commemorate the outbreak of World War I In 1914. The evenings were an extravaganza of displays, singing and sketches. Many thanks go to members of the History Society and St Mary’s church choir who joined the Players on stage or as waiting staff.
